Well I was not sure where to post this so I figured general was the best place to start. I currently have a standerd 2006 Scion xa that I would to give a boost. All i have owned in my life where sports cars and i decided to get a more economical car since i traveled alot for work. Well now im not traveling as much and instead of buying another car i would like to add HP to my current car and upgrade its overall apperance. Now I do airbrushing so I have the painting down, and I have worked on cars before so I have some general knowlege but not enough to go ripping the whole engine apart yet. I do not have alot of money currently since I just bought a house but I dont mind saving up to make sure im getting the right things. My whole goal by the end of this makeover is to say I did it. So if you could in all your wisdom point me in the right direction, tell me how to do home made stuff i would greatly appreciate it. Here are the current specs of my car. Thanks
- Adam

Get out of hear man.A Toyota wanna be? I sell it and buy a camaro, but since you already own it I'd start out with simply bolt ons.cold air intake,header... dont forget the nos. Is it a stick? If its not I would get a torqe converter(if any body makes one). Thats what I would do any way.Peace out.

The EV builders often cook up an "internal combustion pusher trailer" to extend range . . . .

So, if you've just GOT to keep that  . . . urp . . . gag .  . . whoa . . .SCION, you should find a FWD Olds Toronado (the old ones with the big ROCKET V8) or an FWD Cadillac, cut it off at the firewall, weld a utility trailer "tongue" to the front frame, disable the steering, and wire up some remote controls . . . .

"LIGHT THIS CANDLE!"

Oh, and don't forget to spray the "NOSS!"**

**(hey he's an import guy, so you gotta speak in the tuner vernacular)

By the way, you might want to have a "sway controller" before you "launch the ROCKET" . . . and if this mod injures or kills someone, don't forget that Turboted mentioned that on second thought, this idea seems kind of dangerous (try it at your own risk) . . . .

Wrong forum bud.  And honestly...that is not a good platform to try to modify.  If you want to go fast...get a different car.  If you want to join the ricer, "I wanna look fast" crowd...have at it...but we don't care about it here in the land of budget muscle cars.

But to answer your question:

More air + more fuel = more power.

68 Olds Cutlass ~ 350 Rocket
85 Delta 88 ~ 425 Rocket
02 Silverado 4X4 ~ 5.3L

First, I'll give you credit for asking and wanting to do something more than bling with your Scion.

I've heard there are a few turbo kits out there for them, that'd be your best bet for performance upgrades.

You're lucky, people have "disappeared" for asking import related questions on this board!

Of course, should you decide to throw caution to the wind, you could always TURBOCHARGE the massive V8 in the ROCKET PUSHER TRAILER . . . .
