Bitchin burnout!

Now maybe we will finally see that "turbo 302" in a car! (It better rip, though, if it's going to beat that Falcon from the March issue)

Better yet, maybe we will see some turbos on that "Edelbrock 460" in a car! (how about that, Dr511scj?)

Even though Rad Glad says "car guys" only "care to imitate" drag and salt flats racers,  the Shelby Racing Co./Terlinqua Racing Team vibe would be SANO, Baby!  That'd even flow with Freiburger's suggestion from April's Rear View (pg. 106).

But throw the drag pack a cookie with a Thunderbolt-style teardrop scoop on the hood (no boring cowl scoops, please)

I defintly want to see a thunderbolt hood on the stang. And the 6 cyl/auto combo needs to go asap. I would like to see nasty 4 speed car, mini-tubbed and caged. And its time for that 5.0 motor jeff smith yanked out to nakes its way into the stang for sure.

Forget the 4-speed.  It needs at least a TKO-600 or a built AOD-E.

And a pair of turbos!

I don't know about the mini-tubs. Too expensive?

I'd like to see it maxed-out with the stock-type chassis (no Mustang II or coil-overs or IRS)

Go with the Thunderbolt scoop, but black out the hood (see the Jerry Titus/Shelby '67 Trans-Am Mustang--Of course it didn't have a T-bolt scoop . . . .).

And I have it on good authority that a 460 can be fitted between the '67-'68 shock towers . . . .

If its not TURBOCHARGED, you're not finished yet . . . .

I could see the AOD-E build, but a TKO-600 would run like 3500 for the kit. you could definitly build a tough top-loader and mini-tub it for less than that. You could leave the leaf springs, just move them in about 3 inches. But the thunderbolt hood is a solid idea, maybe even a Boss 429 scoop.

Yellow with flat black hood

a screamin 331 wit dem turbos(at least 8,000), or a barkin 429 that can spin 7,000, that would be freakin cool.  Top Loader is a must, along with some fat meats in the back, 4 gear burnout anyone?

How about seeing how much HP you can get out of the 6 before you dump it. The last issue had a turbo charged 6 Falcon in it, I think it would be more interesting to pour the nitrous to the 6 and see what happens. Also fordsixparts.com that was mentioned in the Falcon article is designing a new head for the Ford six. get one of those and see what it does. You can always stick a big 8 in it later, but I think it would be really interesting if you had a regular article that focused on 6 cylinder performance modification every month.  Everyones got a big spanking 8 in their car. Be different. Build that aluminum slant 6 you scoobied out of that Valiant, heck, go back and get the Valiant too, its so ugly its cool.

Wow, zipping through this thread, are we readers the worst bunch of bench racers or what?(life is gooood)

I vote for turbo 302 idea lol, they already have it, not a ton of cash spending, and no need for hurry either(project car, and we all know its Car Craft). For every guy thats been on here saying 351 or bigger theres another 2 saying budget-budget, or mod out the 6.

Yes the Vega guy and the others who said it before are dead on Squeeze the 6 until she pops like a ripe tomatoe. Then do the other stuff, turbo ,351 whatever, plus since you have to upgrade the front end on a I-6 67 to keep it under a V-8 do that while you torture the 200.

I say keep the 6 while you upgrade the rearend and suspension, etc, etc then mill the intake pad flat so you can mount a 500 cfm Holley 2 Bbl to it.

Inject ultra large shots of nitrous to it until it grenades!!

Then you have to go with a twin turbo charged small block!!

Squeeze the 6 til it pops?  I'm sensing a great disturbance in the force- almost as though a million restorers were crying in agony.

DO IT!!!!  IF YOU GUYS FAIL TO PUKE STRAIGHT-SIX INTERNALS ALL OVER WILSHIRE YOU'RE A BUNCH OF ***

I disagree why waste and destroy a perfectly good engine.

Sell it off at least, to somebody that is maybe restoring a 66 or 67,

Don't wreck something just because you think its fun...
