So after doing some research on the Be Cool radiator I have, and discovering that it will only support a MAX of 400HP, I have come to the conclusion that I have to get a new radiator. No need risking a $4000 motor with a $400 radiator. So I did some shopping... contacted some companies. I talked to all the big boys, Ron Davis, Be Cool, PRC, C&R, etc... and none of them would really deal with me. Ron Davis tried, but they just weren't interested in giving helping me out like I was looking for. So I remembered my fried, who is having C.A.R.S. build him his repop Camaro, uses radiators build by Wizard Cooling. And they said that Wizard is the company who is suppling all the radiators for the HotRod1 car, <sarcasm> that we all seem to love </sarcasm>. I figure if it was good enough for HRM's cars, then I would give them a call. Boy... was I glad I gave them a call. They were totally willing to help me out. Got a nice radiator with shroud, and they sent me some pics of a similar one they will send (less the 4 fans). I was stoked. Looks like a nice part too. Claim it will support 800HP with a dual electric fan setup. Take a look at my site for some pics. http://www.project-quicksilver.com/wizard/default.htm http://www.project-quicksilver.com

Not sure where you got your info. . .but Be Cool Radiators are capable of alot more than 400. "Be Cool's Power Cooling Modules take the guesswork out of properly cooling your vehicle. All Be Cool Power Cooling Modules are GUARANTEED to bolt-in easily and properly cool vehicles with engine horsepower outputs from 350 to 1000 dyno-rated horsepower. In fact, Be Cool GUARANTEES a minimum 20-degree coolant temperature drop over an OEM copper/brass/lead radiator or your money back." ~ Straight from their website. Summit Racing has a ton of them rated for 450HP w/o electric fans - 1000HP with electric fans...even one for my 68 Olds Cutlass. There is a group of them that are only rated for 400...but there are others capable of a ton more than that. Still cool you found another company that produces decent radiators.

I got my info off of the Be Cool web site. So where you got yours from I don't know. The parts book shows 2 radiators for the '69 Camaro. 60009 and 60189. The 09 is for the SBC and is rated at a MAX of 400 with an electric fan. The 60189 is for the BBC and is rated at a MAX of 700HP with an electric fan. These numbers came right out of their own catalog. If what you are taking about is a custom radiator, then the price for those are nearly prohibitively expensive. But thanks for the PR pitch. Cant say that I am. . .i got the stuff directly off their website and directly off summit racings site within like 5 minutes. There were basically two direct fit models available for each application. One was 350-400HP as you mentioned. One was 450-1000HP. These are the ones that you would order to put directly in your car...not the universal fit ones. They cost anywhere from $500-650. http://www.becool.com/products_mods.cfm I looked on summits site...and see what you are saying...they don't offer much for your camaro. But hey I can get a 450-1000HP version for my 68 Olds Cutlass...in fact, I have no choice, they don't offer the 350-400HP version. Finally the Oldsmobile guys get something cool thats not available to the Chevy guys...hahahahaha Not trying to laugh at ya...I've had seat covers on order for 7 months cuz nobody makes em...#### Be Cool is good stuff, but since they do not offer a good selection for your car, go on to the next company. Good luck!

You would think that a '69 Camaro could get anything it needed from anyone. But not so in this case, you are right. The Wizard rad I am getting has been used on cars making 1000+HP (per the PR of the Scott at Wizard). And, if you ever want someone to talk to you like a car guy, and not like a waste of time, then Scott over at Wizard is a good guy to call. His extension is x711, and I haven't spoken to a nicer guy. How about some pics of your Olds? I'd like to see it. You can post pics on my forum at www.project-quicksilver.com/forum http://www.project-quicksilver.com

I may look into them when it comes time to upgrade the radiator...never hurts to look at a bunch of different brands. I'm not too good on a computer, but I did manage to set up a webshots site when I was painting the car. http://community.webshots.com/user/bubba68cs The car has been finished (well..."finished" as in I can drive it and it has the interior, except the seat covers) since posting pics on this site. I never had a chance to take any more. I started this car when I was 15 as a project with my dad. Took five years, but finally got it on the road this past summer for my Jr year in college. I'm actually going home today to install a set of moser rear axles, and I'll be sure to take some better pics if I get it done.

That is cool. Nice work. I have a section on my web site called "Other Hot Rodder's Cars" I have all kinds of cars on there. If you like, I can add your car to the list. I'll make the page for you. Just email me some text that you would like on the page, and I can set it up for you. I do like that body style. http://www.project-quicksilver.com

It has been brought to my attention that I was "shill"ing you with my posts. I apologized if anyone thought I was selling them something. I guess it is only appropriate for companies magazines and companies to drop product names. I shall leave my comments to my own site.

Probably the biggest one is Griffin. They make custom aluminum radiators if they don't list one for your chassis.
