For God's sake- put the 455 into that Camaro and run it down the track.  Trailer the damn thing to LACR if you have to.

As long as I'm on the subject, you guys have had a 455 "laying" around the shop for YEARS, and you can't find a decent Pontiac to put it in?  I suffer through Disco Nova, and you can't find a '68-'73 Ventura in SoCal?

I agree put that 455 in that 91 f-body and that thing would fly you wouldn;t have to worry about the quest for twelves or that stupid correction factor

They are keeping the firebird emissions legal.

Yep.  That's why I said drop it into the brown Camaro and tow it or, God forbid, put it into an actual Pontiac of the appropriate year.

Hey- thanks!!!! The '71 is mine .

I appreciate that! I have so much hard work invested in this car that I'm a little emotional about it. It is a fun car and runs/looks very well for a summer work car.  The Car Craft feature was a life long childhood dream come true!

I love all makes and models. I just enjoy building, driving and racing cars. My web site proves that, all makes, models, and car guys from all over the world (17 countries to be exact) helping each other to go faster. If you have a minute, check it out - www.enginecombination.com

Thanks Again!!!

Hey yeah put the 455 in the Disco Nova ! That would be sweet and would teach the Chevy guys a lesson about wrecking other makes my shoving that orange bowtie crap into otherwise perfectly good cars of other makes and usually wrecking them for ever. However with Smith on the staff I bet that never will happen although these heathens that do the opposite always seem to find some goof to write about those abominations.

I've got a bigblock olds motor in my 77 ventura....I'm positive that 455 would bolt right in.....but hey...they already got that SBC paid for...shame...cause there's no replacement for displacement.......

Yeah, the lawyers "Build team" camaro is disgusting.  If you can't do it yourself,  Who the F wants to read about it in car-craft.. I'm sure most guys on this forum put every peice of their car on by themselves, or with the help of a slightly intoxicated friend.

So don't get me wrong, Maro's till the skies turn red and the harbingers of Armageddon wheel in, smiting the rich and giving back to the poor... BUT... What the hell does that guy and his rich a55 have to do with the very essence of car-craft ??    The essence of car-craft you say...  here we go :

Instead of fixing my daily driver, I drive with a leaky master cylinder and one headlight so I could afford that crank for my SB400.

Heating oil for my house??? 45 degrees is balmy with 5 sweaters on, making it possible to spend that cash on a donor 'Maro with the 5 speed manual for swap into the Berlinetta..

I just got engaged, and instead of buying milk at the store, I bought the new car-craft magazine..

   The essence..   Everything muscle... Metal...

This is the way I live every day. I would rather spend money on my car and go hungry. I eat, sleep, and dream about cars. I probably think about cars almost as much as I think about sex.

Well, as I see it, I probably think of my projects more than sex.  After 25 years of holy bliss, it tends to get that way.  Besides, it's pretty hard to piss off your car to the point that you have to sleep in the other room.  I will say this about my beloved.  She has let me have my way with just about any car project or purchase I wanted to do.  No, she isn't a car nut like me.  Her stock remark is that it keeps me out of bars.  Hoo yeah!  - Bowser.
