...awesome. That's all I'll say. If you were on the tour reply and maybe we can swap email addresses for future local SoCal cruises and such.. It's always hard to find guys that are willing to drive their cars places.. Raj 67 Beatercuda (67barracuda@cox.net)

It was great meeting all you guys! I had the LS1 RX7 out there. There were a lot of really cool cars that made it out and also everyone I ran into was super friendly. Too bad I couldn't get through the mangled tech line at qualcomm. I'm going to head down this Friday with a new set of slicks at least to try for a new best. What did the GTO run at the Q?

Post your times next week. I was hoping to see your car run. My 65 SS could only pull 9.65's at 77 mph. I have to figure out how to launch my stick shift without the tires going up in smoke. I had still had a blast since I've never redlined that car since I put the stick in it. It pulled nice and hard all the way to 5700 rpm. Not bad for a ten year old daily driver. Cool car. So, when ya gonna paint it?

Hey half the fun is getting down the track! Rowing the gears down the track isn't the easiest thing to do. Work on those 60fts and get it down to the low 9's. ![]() I'm kinda upset I didn't get to run. I found out my "bad fuel pump" was actually a mass air sensor wire that was tweaked and if I had known I could have made it to the track early enough to make it through tech. Spent 30 minutes rushing that new pump in for no reason. Oh well, I'll post up my times from next week when I run. With the new changes and extra power I think it should do well. ![]()

Hey guys! I had a great time on the trip. I'm guessing that everyone made it home OK?
We stopped at a buddy's house in Corona Del Mar on the way back, but still made it home by 7:00. The trip was right around 700 miles total for us. How far else did everyone travel?
Wow, tech was a killer at the track. I did'nt get my $20 race with Firebird man either because they would'nt let him race with no fire jacket. Bummer!
We made three passes. Motor only at first. Spun real bad and ran a 7.44. Next was another tire spinning 7.30 nitrous attempt. Finally, my new bracket racer buddies told me to do a dry hop after the burnout just to clean off the tires again. I turned the N2O controller down to a 10% start and 2.5 second ramp up time, did my dry hop (spun like crazy) and staged. I was rewarded with a 6.82 @100.4 and a 1.54 60' time. Not my best 660 ever, but it was a great pass and the car was dead hooked. It made all of that waiting worth while.
There were a ton of really cool people that come over and talked to us at the track. That was the most attention that the car has EVER received.
Thanks to the CC staffers and all of you guys for a great weekend!
Next year I want to pair up with the RX and have some fun! The winner gets the $20 race with OldsmoBird man.(GRIN)

When am I going to paint it? As soon as Car Craft decides to make it into a project car.. Project Beatercuda.. How to make a decent daily driver on a shoestring budget.. Heheh.. Actually, first I gotta get the body work knocked out and I'm just too much of a newbie to wanna try it myself.. I know I'll fubar it.. So I'm waiting until I have about $1500 together and I'm going to One-Day it like the Disco Nova.. Raj

I was on the Tour with the silver '71 Chevelle. I didn't talk to too many people. I kept to myself most of the time (i.e. I'm pretty shy).
It was cool. Watching the drag racing at Qualcomm was sweet, although most of you Car Craft tour guys were stuck in the tech line forever.
I hailed from Fresno. Round trip it was right around 800 miles.
Firebat guy was riding my case at Galpin while I was talking to another Chevelle owner (who didn't go on the tour). Good thing I'm a kickback guy. He was getting on my nerves. Quick way to piss someone off if you ask me. Sounded like too many small block Chevy owners made him look silly at the track, he built a big block Olds and is now picking on the small block Chevy guys. Too funny.
If any of you are up in the Fresno area, look me up!

The 403 Olds is a small block, almost the same displacement as a 400 small block chevy. The 400 Olds is a big block, just as the 396 and 402 Chevy motors are big blocks.

Hey guys, Yowzah here! (primered '72 Charger) Yes, the Anti-tour was perfect! Great group of guys, far but not too far to drive, good scenery, and drag racing.
Just Awesome! Anybody into Mopars there is a great show this weekend in Van Nuys, outdoors at Woodley Park. Sat.-Sun. 10am. Here's the link- http://www.cpwclub.com/sf06flyer.pdf
I'll be driving my '62 Chrysler on Sat. and my girl's '72 Charger hopefully on Sunday.
Let me know of any cool shows within 30 miles of Hollywood.
Oh, best reaction time was .553 seconds. They gave me the wrong time slip on my best run but it was probably 10 flat or 10.1 seconds. Next year shoot for high 8's or low 9's.

I was the guy with the 71 Olds Cutlass(White with blue stripes). It was my first car trip and it was a blast. I wish I could have raced, but I had a trans leak so I didn't even bother to go to tech. I didn't come back with you guys though because my fiance wanted to stay an extra night. The whole experience was great, and I thing my girl caught the car craft bug. She now agreed to letting me build a wagon, and when I'm done with that she wants an early Trans Am(my dream car). Thanks Car Craft for the great trip.

Raj "So, when ya gonna paint it?" is my signature line. It's what everyone inevitably says to me after they say they like my car. Scott Cool car. So, when ya gonna paint it?
