Hi, Has anyone here had experience mounting a chev 350 in a small bodied AMC..?? This would include the cars; Rogue, American, Gremlin, Hornet, Spirit, etc. I have a rather clean 74 Hornet 4 door granny-special waiting for more get-up-and-go. I'm not going for originality, and forget about the AMC V-8/401 arguments too. (Out of my budget and I'd still need an AMC case 727...) I already have a good 350/700R4 combo, ready to go in. The OD 4th will help cut down on the revs.. Right now the car has an AMC 20 posi, with 3.54 gears. The car is presently a 232, and I have no plans of going out and buying the V-8 only cro$$member and motor plate$. I was thinking about 1/4" steel plates on the factory frame mounting points, and some sort of stands to bolt the old style rubber-on-block motor mounts to. Any constructive ideas are welcome. Cheers! Mike

Sell the AMC and buy an '80s G-body GM car.  Why "bugger weld" together a low-buck abortion that nearly everybody will hate?

BTW, an AMC 20 isn't exactly a Dana 60 or a Ford 9," if you know what I mean . . . .
