im new to the board but want to get an opinion i have inherited (dont hate me we all have dreams) a 1967 corvette covt originaly a 327 car now has a 427 (as it should)the engine was supposedly sourced from a truck. Im not certain as to the heads or cam but the car ran good and has great compression and has run a best of 12.3 at 109 - the holly 4bbl had now sprung a leak and will either need rebuilt or replaced. and here is where my question comes in. is it better to rebuild or replace im sure technology has come a long way new manufactures new set ups. ibelive the currnt holly is a 750cfm s that big enough or to big would i benifit from switching to a Demon or other brand or should i just have the ole holly rebuilt. You all know more than me so any help or advice is appritiated. Jon

That Holley 750 is plenty big enough for your 427, and the design really hasn't changed much since it first came out. You won't see any benefits form switching to a Demon carb.

Your best course of action, rebuild the carb on the motor (make sure you use brass floats and not the plastic ones), and that way your throttle linkage and all other parts will hook right up. After that, when you're finished, enjoy crusing and making people jealous in your inheritance!
