the other day my bro in law came across an 84 buick with a 350 for sale and suggested it as an engine for my moms 87 firebird. I was just curious if this engine would bolt up the the birds tranny(auto). 1961 ford falcon- first car 1984 mercury capri

depends what engine in there now????????
chevy v8 then no
3.8 v6 dist in front (buick) then yes
2.8 or 3.1 or 3.4 v6 then no
If it won't move,FORCE it,If it breaks, IT needed replacing anyways!!!!!!!!!!

yeah it had the 305, but i think that we are gonna have to replace the tranny too (auto unfortunatly) doesn't it all have something to do with where the starter is? i thought that gm's was the interchange kings!!! 1961 ford falcon- first car 1984 mercury capri

The only 350 offered by Buick in 1984 was a diesel.
Does this car have the original engine?
