Cant find a 4 speed auto tranny for a 302????  Perhaps the STOCK  AOD trans may ring a bell there?? Been installed in Crown Vics since 81 or so.

As for Mustang motor swap

The HO 302 requires a Mustang Mass air computer for the 89 - 93 models, and even the 87-88 Speed density models require a Mustang EEC IV to run.  The Crown vic 302 has a different firing order and has batch fire EFI vs the SEFI in the HO.
