Is this stuff getting fun or what?

I recently bought a 1976 Ford Maverick. It is a 6 cylinder 3 speed on the tree no power anything and radio delete. Less than 100,000 mile little old lady type car. It has 5 lugs and disc brakes and a 8 inch rear. A good starting point so I have been driving this thing and letting my imagination go. After studying up on a few things I have found that I can construct this car a lot of different ways, all cool, and all reasonable.

The ultimate plan is 5.0 with EFI, T5 tranny using cable clutch linkage, and a "decent" gear. With the right donor car this can be accomplished fairly inexpensively. I was shocked how easy a lot of this has become.

Stroker motor kits are all over, as are crate engines and EFI conversions. Parts to build a lot of old 70's cars into legit "Hot Rods" abound. Hot Rod is doing a 1972 Ventura. Cars like mine are still cheap and plentiful. Aspen RT's and Volare "Road Runners" would be cool finally given a Magnum motor swap. As would GM Nova "clones". I thought with the advent of technology these cars would all fade into obscurity, I am glad I was wrong.

Anyone else out there building a 70's car like these? Please reply.
