In Sept 07 car craft Jeff Smiths aricle on induction systems stated that the edelbrock c26 manifold would be good on a 283 or 327 motor rather than the 383 that was the mule for the tests (RPM single 4 bbl performed better). I would like to know why? I have a 62 vette with 327 and because of hood clearance RPM is too tall but the c26 would work. Would this be better than the old edelbrook C3B that I now have?? Car has FI heads, 10.5 cr, wide ratio 4sp, 3.36 gears and 350HP hyd cam now.

The problem with that manifold is it can't support a lot of displacement, that's why it'll work great on a 327 or 283 as he says in the article, but with a bigger engine the manifold just can't supply enough air.
