It was in the yard for five months. They had it in their car corral. No one wanted it. So the yard decided to break it up. I bought it as they were getting out.

They bought it from a police auction. The car was originally sold in Missouri, the owner moved to CA in '75, she owned it til she died in '96. Her daughter had it in her yard partially covered til the spring of '02.

Some kids wanted the 454 and other stuff. They disconnected the shifter linkage and tried to tow it. But the steering wheel was locked. Everything was going great until they tried to turn at the end of the street. The car went backwards into someones yard pulling the crappy little truck they were using to tow it. They got caught trying to unhook their truck from it.

The daughter didn't want it back, so it went to auction.

Race weight, 4060 Ran a best of 13.91 @ 98.2 sofar.Just getting started on this one though. If I hit 12.00 with it, that`s it. I`m getting too old& miserable to want to play with roll bars in my street car. Yeah I know the NHRA changed the et break for bars to 11.49, but I haven`t for my car.

Maybe we can get Car Craft to publish a list in the magazine or our rides listed here.  I wonder if they read this board, do you think they will see this?  Let us know Car Craft.

My current daily driver is a 95 Beretta Z26 that is really the first car I've wrenched on a lot on my own.

My 80 Camaro Z28 is the first car I've had that's actually fast. Lots of plans for this thing and so little time/money.

1972 Camaro SS. I've owned the car for almost 20 years, just finished a complete (and I do mean complete) restoration. You can see more pictures of the full restoration at my website's forums:

86 Grand national, had a 4.1 factory block motor that put down 500hp/500 tq at the wheels.Ran consistent low 11s-high 10s.Street driveable too.

The new motor is an all aluminum 4.1 from TA performance with a pt76gts turbo (capable of 1150hp),solid roller cam,4600 stall, blah blah.

I hope to run low 9s with it.

I also have a 70 skylark that is getting a 455 built for it to be my new street cruiser.Ported stock heads,230 in/240 ex @050 112lsa cam,TA sp1 intake,10.5:1,950hp carb,and a little spray on top.
