1962 Chevy Nova

sbc 377, dart pro1 alum heads, demon carb, victor intake, fenderwell headers, 3" exhaust flowmaster.

Th350, tci shift kit and internal upgrades

Currie 9" with 4:11 spooled

6 point cage

Qa1 coilovers front, KYB rear

Misc. other upgrades

Built this car for the past six years.  Bought it when I was in high school then went away to college and never had time.  Saved up some money and completed the car in about 1 year.  With the old 406 motor it ran 12.9 @101 mph.  Motor was no good so, had the 377 built. Plan on adding a procharger.  Fast, fun and street legal.

To view car go to this website

Thanks for looking

Jed

Several in various states of dis-repair
1) 79 lincoln continental...Bracket car. stop laughing... I mean it. really. specs are as follows:
1979 continental with limo prep package (heavier guage frame)
O reilly auto reman 400m bone stock.
ATI full competition C6 (manual valvebody, roller bearing planetaries low 1st gear)
ATI custom converter. (800rpm stall anti ballooning plate needle bearings)
STOP LAUGHING!!!!
custom driveshaft (the weak link...73.5 inches long!!! 2.75 I.D. .250 wall)
Nodular centersection in rear 9" 5.oo:1 rear gear (motive gear)
Spherical rod ends on rear suspension (replaced stock links after "slightly" breaking left lower on 1-2 upshift)
Fuzzy dice.

now before y'all think i lost my mind- here's the "WHY"
1] curb weight ready to race-5,310 lbs I can't spin a tire, reguardless how bad track conditions are.
2] speaking of tires the street/foot brake class i normally run rules state i can run as large a tire as i want provided it fits in the stock wheelwell and does not protrude more than 1" out fo the wheelwell.. i usually run 35x12.50 15 truck tires with the tread shaved down to 2/32" and they fit with lots of room to spare inside the wheelwell.  (i want to try 33x14.50 M/T's but can't find a set used.
3] the car is geared so low the engine never really "sees" the heft...it simply revs like its in neutral (i can pull a plug wire and only lose .3)
4} with the above being said its...slow, but consistent as hell. if its hot or cold my e.t. never changes much (i guess 8.0:1 compression and 87 octane aren't too picky)
5] i always leave first...if i don't then i'll tune it till it's the slowest thing in eliminations...and leave it there, that way all i have to do is cut a good light (.511-.520 on a .500 tree and the other guy goes home.
6] its funny as hell to pull up into the staging lanes with a 27 ft car.
How slow is slow, you may ask...11.24 in the eighth mile at 66.4 mph (it's been as "quick" as 10.9 but it gets temp sensitive there)
that car is how i pay for my other toys.
the only problem i have with the car is its in TN and ia ain't!!! you ever price moving a car from TN to fort hood texas? it ain't cheap.

2)1982 dodge van currently being prepped for possible engine swap/ and or half track conversion.

numerous other "partial" vehicles... though probably nuthin y'all be interested in... yet.

I am kind of car rescuer. right now I have two.

First, 65 Impala SS( Known as the BEAST) , originally 327/pwrglide. "Evening Orchid" (Thats pink to us) Now, 383 four bolt block,  9.5:1 comp, Comp Cams XE274, Edelbrk RPM intake, Proform 750 dbl pmpr, Hooker Comp headers, "186" heads, 2.02/1.60 roller rockers, 2 1/2 exhaust with Flowtech Terminator muffs. 410 hp @6000, 440 ft lbs trq at 3200 rpm. New Process 4 speed, 10 bolt with Eaton Posi and 3.36:1 gears. Poly bushings front and rear, rear A-arms boxed, Cragar Street Stars and BFGs. Now its ugly primer and rust. No carpet and 500 watts of JVC tunes. I've gotta hear the radio over the engine.

I saved this from a neighbor who wanted to hack it for hydros. Paid $1200 bucks for this one, the body was about the same as now, but the entire chassis and drive train replaced by me.

Second, 70 Caprice coupe, (Luxo-Muscle-Barge) All original, LS-4 10.25:1 345 hp 454 big block, th400 trans, 12 bolt peg leg, pwr windows, seats, Comfortron AC, Disc brakes, tilt wheel, light minders frt and rr(1 of 9900), and rr window defroster (1 of 3419). 15 X 7 rallys. BFGs. Anniversary Gold with Gold brocade (read Grandmas sofa) interior. Nice car.

Believe or not, I actually bought this one from a salvage yard the day they were going to crush it.  I've only gave this one a tune up, tires, shocks. I had to replace brake hoses and all bulbs in order to pass the safety inspection. I've been just enjoying since. I haven't even touched the points that were in it. That was three yrs ago.

That caprice sounds like a real find.  Must not have sat in the yard too long or someone would have pulled the 454.

For those of you who may not know me, I am in Melbourne, Australia, and therefore have been forced to convert my 69 Camaro to Right-Hand-Drive (RHD) if I wish to at least drive it on the roads here.

The law changed recently to allow LHD cars over 30 years old to be driven with no restrictions, but too late! The Camaro has been RHD for some time and I am now greatly improving of the conversion and the condition of the entire car.

Here is the Camaro on the rotisserie I made. Note the RHD firewall almost finished in this pic.

<img src="http://img295.echo.cx/img295/1782/rotisserie41bv.jpg" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" />

Here is my trusty 454 with a nice coat of Chevy Orange and some lovely GMPP valve covers. It's to look a bit like an L78 396/375.. -It won't exactly, but it'll have a nice factory appearence.

<img src="http://img295.echo.cx/img295/3609/bbcnov04f9cu.jpg" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" />

Here is the horrid Ford 9"! It's a 31 spline, Detroit Locker in a NOS Ford Motorsport nodular center. A 12 bolt with the usual upgrades would easily be adequate, but this'll do..!

<img src="http://img295.echo.cx/img295/6208/9inchcomplete1gf.jpg" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" />

And this is what it onced looked like and will again soon.. -but better!

-Steve. My '69 Camaro rules my life!
