yes the SI/SII (you have the SII if its a 96) (Buick and ecotec down under in Oz) will bolt into the Fbody (both have the 60V6 belhousing pattern) however the eaton M90 Blower inlet will be facing the firewall...now if you go onto one of the holden boards (streetcommodores.com) you could possibly buy the u shapped inlet adapter from one of their applications to make it work...or have the filter in the cab and enjoy the massive whine at WOT...lol
the other option is to check with Cartunning/zzp performance/Intense racing/Milzy motorsports to see about one of the bolt on turbo kits for a FWD and get a pair of FWD manifolds and flip them towards the front to mount the turbo there...
if you are going the M90 blower route you can get the heads/brackets and fuel rails from an L67 (SC) and put them onto your higher compression short block and not have to overdrive the blower as much to make power...from what i know there are a couple 400 whp FWD L36's with the L67 top end swapped onto them...the Turbo cars are where its at as Intense's GTP (single turbo, though others have gone almost as fast with twin turbo's and ZZP has a Turbo/supercharged car) has as of last season ran a 9.646 and is making ~900 crank HP but they have been shearing input shafts/differentials in the trans which the blower cars do ALOT more, because of all the bottom end Tq...
they even have 4.2L billet crank stroker kits... ;D
couple of sites fer ya. 3800Pro.com (intense sponsored site, with links to RWD 3800 sites Viper04 has an Fbody with over 400Whp, he could help ya more) Mymonte.com L67swap.com (brianteel is who to talk to there) W-body.com (all of the W body's are there, from cars like our twin engine Cutlass to GTP's, Lumina's, Montecarlo's, etc.
I am currently one of two people (one in Oz) working on putting the symetrical port/bigger valve SII heads and top end onto the Tall Deck/Long Rod SI shortblock as stroking the SII shortblock leads to some very short rods and horrible rod/stroke angularity...
once done we will be putting two of these SI/SII Hybrid engines into the twin engine 442 ("son of Hairy") and turbocharging each...
as fer the N* in the toy...good luck your gonna hate it...especially when the starter goes or the main skirt gasket starts leaking...best just to swap an L67 into the toy as well (-Ed- morad parts company on 3800Pro hooks alot of people up with known good engines/tranny's harness' PCM's etc)
good luck with the project!
