i just came up with this out of the blue. i dont even own an import vehicle, and have only driven one, so i dont know why this came to me. i'm not sure if anybody has done this before, or if it is possible, but here it goes.
the Acura RSX type S has a 2.0 L4 with around 200 legit hp. it also has a 6 speed tranny. that's stock, and smog legal for an '03. a few of these cars have probably shown up in junk yards by now. why not drop one of those motors in a CRX, or regular civic? the ultimate sleeper would be a first gen 4 door integra with that combo. this could be the 'junkyard crawl' of the future in an import mag. just a thought.

I have to agree. I try to be open minded about all cars, but I can't wrap my brain around modifying *** Crap! It's a waste of time and money, if you ask me. Sorry to be so negative. If front drive is your thing, how about installing a 3800 Buick supercharged engine from a late model Pontiac Bonneville SSI or Buick Park Avenue Ultra into a Cavalier or Sunbird. Now that would be an interesting swap!

Its already been done bud. crx with a type s swap with hondata kpro with headers intake and exhaust with a good tune yeilds normally 220-230whp in a 2200lb car. slick it down and they normally go mid to low 12s. add a 75 shot on it and you will be in the 11's easy. if you guys dont believe me, do a search for it. its been done many times. this swap has been around for about three to four years now.

fwd isn't my thing. i just see alot of people putting money into their throw-away cars, with B123awhatever and they end up not passing smog because it's california. i see my idea as the import version of putting an lt1/6 speed in an old muscle car.

(Just finished throwing up in my trashcan)
I admire trying to think outside the box, never anything wrong with that. But like the guys above said, it's tough to get a hold of the idea of messing with a Honda, especially here.
I'm not the biggest fan of FWD, but let's face it, they outnumber the RWD cars we see everyday.
That being said, if you were looking for that type of project, why not find a Chevy Cobalt or Cavalier to mess around with? Or a Ford Focus? Dare I say even a Neon? If you're gonna mess with a FWD car, at least stay American!
