i have a jeep j100 with a firewall mounted paking brake, standard truck style. im installing a painless fuse block and the brake takes up 2 much room. is it possible to change over to a floor mounted parking brake, or an e-brake style system. has anyone done this sort of thing before and how hard is it?

is the the standard jeep pull handle out the middle of the dash.?????

and are you still using the tranny band parking brake?????

you might look at the pull up type levers that are used on later 60's ford vans...  or a bunch of parcel vans... they have an ajustable knob on the end of the lever to make sure the parking brake it tight... these don't necessarly need to be mounted  on the left side of the drivers foot well  area.....

i don't personally know of a center mounted parking brake lever that also mounts the cable casing also... somebody will and hopefully they will share....

custom legnth parking brake cables can be made at many good real auto parts stores....
