Well boss the last time I lived in tx they required that all the standard safety equip be in working order ie; wipers, horn, turn signals, brakes and such, exhaust must be in good safe working order and exit from under the car past the passanger compartment, if the car came with a cat/converter it must be there and must work, the lights must all work and evan the bumpers i believe must be secured to the vehicle.T o be sure just check with yourn local DPS office a they will give you skinny on all of it. Okay now I'm worried, on the wind shield part, is it only if it obstructs your view or any cracks? Emissions is fine, any one ever tried rubbing alchohal? I don't know of any repracusions but it makes em burn clean.

Yeah I tried it once and it worked for me but I just don't know about side FX we have orders back to Tx. so I'm trying to get a heads up. I apreciate the help, Hopefully no emissions around whichita falls, last time I got tested in colorado I had a fire 30 minutes later. Instead of disconecting anything even though the fire was already out the firemen cut every wire and hose they could see. Needless to say I don't want any repeats. It's almost back to how it was pre fire. Thanks again, how frequently do they do vehicle inspections?

geez, have you ever done an inspection? they do it once a year depending on where you go, they may "not notice" some of the safety stuff, one time, the inspector "didn't notice" my exhaust leak, another time the inspector "didn't notice" the huge fukin crack on the windshield, it kinda depends on where you go... I am, in no way suggesting that you get an illegal inspection sticker >.>

I have actually only had two inspections in sixteen years of legal driving, when we got stationed here in colorado I was like whats this inspection stuff you guys are nut's? They have emissions only at least for older vehicles, once every two years. My windshield crack doesn't obstruct my view, so hopefully with the addition of a horn. It soesnt matter at first cause I'll stay near base but were looking at a house there so I have to pass soon. Do they have a classic plate or any thing, to where you only have to do it once.

yes, we have classic plates if the car is 25 years old, it doesn't need to do emissions and you only need the safty inspection (something like $15)
