Just read Glad's editorial in the June '08 issue.
I noticed a lot of guys that are into old crappy cars that can't handle worth a damn, are slow as a turtle and generally make a lot of noise; are into Japanese sport bikes.
I've been trying to find the thing that links the two, but just can't find it.
Sure the Japanese bikes can go fast, rev to the moon, are covered in plastic and last forever. So why not be into Japanese cars, too?

I myself, prefer to keep my cars and bikes in the same catagory. Loud, slow and handle like a turd.

hey, I got a hand-shifted 4 speed & foot clutch...

I read that and immediately thought of my friend Joe. Joe has himself a 1966 Fairlane GTA that was backyard tubbed, has a 460 in it and is a nice car overall. Its a good 11 second car that cant take a turn to save its life, is loud as hell and gets around 5mpg.

Joe also fits this mould because he has an old Kawasaki in his garage as well. It is a 1991 ZX7, and even though I personally am not into the bike scene, I do remember these things when they came out and even as a kid I thought they were pretty cool. I still do. Its carburated, and its going through a bit of a refreshening. He took it apart, is doing the bearings on it and a few other things. The frame has been powdercoated and he has a friend that is so awesome hes painting the bike for the price of some carne asada and beer. (guess who that is? ) Its a newer Kawi color off of a ZX10 and its looking good so far. Ill post pics when its painted an assembled, and the Glad seal of approval or disdain would be appreciated. Should be painted this week.
