The people who invented drag racing did so "tuning" 4- cylinders and 6-cylinder engines. It was what they had, it was what they used.

Huh. All this talk about fast econo cars is startin to make me queasy.
First, explain this: how can you brag about your 3 year old boosted modern tech car beating up a 25 year old 6 popper? Spray or no spray, 25 years is a long time in the development of car technology, so that 80's racer was at a disadvantage.
Second, I really have something against econo cars made out to be fast. It may be that the sight of these Civics and whatnot with spoilers bigger than the car make me sick, but I think any gas sipper, foreign or domestic, shouldn't be made into a "fast" car. Or even slightly fast.
Don't get me wrong, I've raced a few Neons that ran 11's too. But they're not musclecars. My 10 second Nova isn't a musclecar either--but it sure as **** is much more so than a Neon, and I have a grand total of $4000 in it (don't you love junkyards and doin your own work?).
It's a 5.3 truck motor with two T3/4 hybrids taken off a wrecked ricer civic and from a friend upgrading
So if you ever make it up to New Hampshire I'll take you on and show you boost
And for the purists, I have a 427 BB El Camino that's only good for smoking tires, and a '72 Rallye Challenger 340 a friend and I are building.

So THOSE are real musclecars under most people's definitions. Now maybe in SuperStreet they think differently, I don't know.

Sorry for the long winded response, GL to all

Projects: '79 Camaro 350/350, '72 Challenger Rallye 340 (the Green Slug!) which is currently sleeping in the snow :-(
