Subject: It's a national problem-Street Racing Date: 5/6/2006 10:50:13 AM Pacific Standard Time From: EthelkilledFred
To: mayor@lacity.org
Hello Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa,
With the new movie Fast and the Furious 3, we are concerned about how it will effect the youth in regard to street racing and with the added drifting in the movie you are going to have young copy cat wanabe street racers, racing down busy city streets in rush hour traffic, and if that aint enough they are going to be going side ways thinking they are in control going around corners. We need the track open soon, and June 16, 2006 (schd date for the movie release) would be a golden opportunity for Los Angeles to show case how they are addressing this national problem and by holding a press conference regard the plans to eliminate street racing by having a choice other than the streets, and how this was done 50 years ago (NHRA) and it worked than as it will work now.
The movie is not out yet and the street race problem is growing, just look at Ontario, last month they arrested 300 people, and nobody has seen the movie. What a waste of city tax dollars that could have been used to fight real crime like getting drug dealers off the streets, solving cold cases, and bring real career criminals to justice.
We are getting word of street racers wanting help in this matter from as far as the East coast. I think Los Angeles could set precedence here and show the nation how it's done. Thanks for all the help we have been getting so far, but I think it's time to tell Angelinos what is going on with a Press Conference on or before June.
Thanks again
-Fabian
Here is a copy of such request for help regarding street racing sent by a hard-core NYC Street Racer.
Hey Keeny,
You went to the wrong website, the Brotherhood board can be found at:
It's a very hard board to find.
We work with the local Police like Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Los Angeles Sheriff's Department (LASD) and the Los Angeles Mayor Office along with Los Angeles City Council.
Here is what went on in the last year or so regarding reopening of the Brotherhood Raceway, which is going to reopen here soon, despite the haters:
It can be found on the links page of the Brotherhood board along with other links to stories about how the street race program works in not only getting street racing under control but in curbing gang violence. Anything I can do to help let me know, I have free videos on Brotherhood Raceway from T.V. shows that air. Send me an e-mail with a US Address and I will send it to you free of any charges. Pinks producer might be interested in an East Coast Street Racer Vs West Coast Street race shootout, I will forward this e-mail to him. Thanx for you interest. -Fabian

| Dragracing is not street racing, even though it was started by street racers. Have you watched the show Pinks were the give cars length handycaps. Try that at Irwindale and see how well it works for you. Just my 2 cents

If you ask the guys at irwindale they will give you any combination of any kind of start you want.I would know ive been there since they opened it up and i live about a mile away. Also no amount of dragstrips will stop street racing,Its just too easy to get away with, even when big willy opened up Terminal Island in long beach it still didnt stop.

Thats not what the cops said about T.I.-
Big Willie opened the Brotherhood race track, located on Terminal Island in Los Angeles. It was built for street racers by ex-street racers and that meant it was the only race track in the world that was open from Friday 5 p.m. until gates closed Monday a.m. That also meant if you wanted to race at 4 a.m. you wouldn't do it on the street because the track would be open. As Big Willie explained, "You can't expect a guy to go home at 10 p.m. and just park his car."
The response was phenomenal. Not only did incidents of illegal street racing dip to record lows in LA when the track was open, but so did the crime rate. LAPD cops were quoted in Times' articles, calling Big Willie's program, "a miracle..." From:
