Thanks for posting pictures of amc's.Or anything out of the ordinairy.I'm a GM man but i'm sick of camero's ,corvettes,chevelles,mustangs thats all anyone wants to talk about! I watch barrett jackson on tv thats all they have  or maybe a classic 55 or 57 everynow and then. Can anyone tell the last year that AMC made the 401 motor?thks dan

AMC last put 401's in cars in 74, though a few 75 Matadors may have escaped. Jeeps had them untill 78.  For performance on a budget though, go for a 360 or a 343 with the Arma Steel crank, not as rare as you would think.  Either are strong bottom ends, as long as you keep them oiled.  BTW I,m 15 and am building a 72 AMX

AMC is a blast. I have a twin to the 67<mine a 66 with 43000> Was going to sell it for 2500.00 but now I dont know. Was looking for a 401 myself. Jerry
