I own an original 69 firebird 400 4-speed. I am in the process of restoring it (mostly body and interior work) and was wondering if i could look forward to seeing a first gen firebird project in the magazine anytime soon.

You two may want to check out Chevy High Performance's online site.  This sister publication to Car Craft has tons of articles regarding first gen F-body resto.  Most of which can be applied to the Bird you're working on,  especially as you are looking for interior resto stuff.  Cool on you for going the Pontiac route.
