My dad and I built a 71 cutlass supreme with a strong 455, the intake is a vintage offy dual quad manifold and we put 2 Edelbrock 660 cfm carbs on it. I'd really like to find a ram air setup that draws the air through spot where the highbeams used to be. Does anyone know where I can come by one of these at a decent price? I remember CC featured a cutlass or 442 a few years ago with this setup, but I can't find the issue. Thanks in advance for ne info.
Sure they stopped making 'em, but Oldsmobiles still rule. Rocket power baby!

Home Depot . . .
Seriously, all you need is a couple of remote filter or "blow-through" "carb hats," some dryer vent hoses, a couple of remote "cone" filters, and some old coffee cans to make the headlamp ducts.
There's also a "Ram Air" place in Canada (I think) that does turn-key systems (can't remember the web address, but they advertise all the time in the back of Primedia magazines)
Crites Restorations sells the OG Thunderbolt-style parts if you want to go for a more finished "factory" look (but much more expensive)
Finally, a trick system would be to use a factory Olds dual snorkle (or add a snorkle to a single) with a modified top (fill in the center bolt hole) and a dual-quad insert welded into the base. Then you could have a W-style hose Ram-Air system.
On a '71, a repro Fiberglass W-30 hood might be a better choice . . . .

Thanks for the info FoMo. Any idea where I can get some rather inexpensive carb hats for the Edels? Lol I'm sure Home Depot doesnt carry those. Sure they stopped making 'em, but Oldsmobiles still rule. Rocket power baby!

Here's the place I couldn't remember: http://www.ramairbox.com/price_list.html

I don't know if any of this stuff is cheap enough. If not, I'd look at some velocity stacks to see if you could cut a pair down and clamp hoses to them (I have no idea this will work)
