Why must you always assume muscle cars are heavy? 3100-3200 lbs isn't that heavy. Who cares if Japan has an import class with american cars in it? Do I live in Japan? It takes big displacement to make lots of naturally asperaited horse power and torque.

I'm talking about you complaining about us arguing about ricers vs american muscle. There is no need to come on here and tell us to stop talking about it. I'm sure there's a sports team that you feel is better than another, and you would argue that point. The same effect occurs here. So, in essence, SHUT YOUR MOUTH.

Wasn't intended to be a complaint, son.  However, take it anyway you wish.  BTW, what's your point of view... was Shelby's AC Cobra a domestic ride or import?  I'll be interested in your p.o.v.  It may provide insight to you as to why the import/domestic debate is so silly.

* Maybe you don't know what a Cobra is (and I'm not referring to a Mustang).

if you take the way the government places cars in to a catagory..

then  it was assembled here so it's a domestic...

just like a camery  is now....

tho  those  catagories where nothing but loop holes for the fleet mpg  average.....

personally  the cobra was/is an overpriced pos..

I have a question.  If you can help me it would be appreciated.

Can you please identify cylinder heads by casting numbers? If so can you please give these numbers or direct me to a website.  It is for 70-79 small block Chevy 350. Since the engine was built by someone else the exact year they came from is unknown.  I would like to know valve size and cc of combustion chamber and if possible the flow of intake and exhaust ports unported. Heads have small plug and bolt on push rod guides   Casting number on head is 3881482.

The 427 shelby cobra was faster in a straight line than most of the legendary muscle cars. It's faster than a LS6 chevelle, a hemi cuda or the GTO judge.

It's a "482" casting; those typically had 1.72 intake and 1.50 exhaust valves with a 75cc combustion chamber.

Yes, but how much did it cost in their day? Would it be faster than a COPO Camaro or Nova? The ones with aluminum big-blocks and such, you know what I'm talking about. Thats the only real comparison I can think of.

Depending on which old magazine tests you want to use the 427 cobra is as fast or faster than a ZL-1 camaro. The cobra cost around $7500 while the ZL-1 cost $7200. The price issue is moot though, they were so rare in their day you'd probably never see one and they both cost around a half million today.

At the risk of sounding harsh, your answer is pretty much what I expected.  You pound your chest about domestic muscle.  Yet, I'll wager you haven't been within an area code of an original Cobra.  Let alone even know what one is, where it originated from and what powered it.  Perhaps I'm wrong.

I like your car, how fast is it with the nitrous? How do you get pass tech with out a rollbar? At the track if they see a nitrous unit on a V8 they want to see a roll bar, figuring it sould at least go 11's. Yur set up looks like it should go 10's with nitrous?
