Yea plus your buddy can do something you can't with his talon, dump the clutch and not worry about sending the car sideways because he's got a lot more traction than just 2wd cars.

i think that the most logical way to start them would be with a pull cord, but then again they might be easier to steal... oh wait... who would be that stupid?

That would be funny seeing you run from a bunch of dudes goin to kick your arse because you stole thier 97 Supra with 450hp and you left them with your 275 HP "IROC" slowmaro.

You give props to them for going fast with half the displacement, but then agian, their half the weight. Put that motor in an older muscle car (though the ground may open up and suck you straight into hell), and lets see how fast it goes then.

Not nessisarily. My Eagle Talon TSi AWD weighs about 3100lbs. Thats considerably heavy considering the size of the vehicle, I think. What does your average Camaro weigh, 3300lbs? Not too much more.

I'm sure if I stuck my engine into a F body or Fox Body 'Stang, those cars would still have some ummph. I mean, what can you say about an SVO Mustang, would those be considered "rice"? 2.3 liter SOHC 4 cylinder and factory turbo.....sweet ass car. I guess because he dosn't have more than 300 cubes under the hood he's a ricer, eh?

no, you wouldn't consider them ricers because they are rwd. second, are you calling a 57 Belair a ricer? It came with a 283, but its still not a ricer. The first Corvettes came with displacements of under 300 cubes, but still not ricers. Third, as much as i hate fords, i'd still pick one over a underpowered, fartpiped, wrong-wheel-drived, pos. namely, imports. I still dont understand why they have wings on them...

They need those wings to put downforce on their rear wheels when they're doin 70 mph down the quarter ;-)

Mitch

So what if you have more Horsepower per liter, I've got more Horsepower per car!

Yeah, I've got a turbo.......Transmission

Ok, so AWD is rice? A Subaru WRX is rice? A DSM is rice? An Evo is rice? How about a Syclone or Typhoon? Are they rice too?

LOL.  I never considered my AWD Volvo S60 R to be "rice."  Frankly, I'm still trying to understand what "rice" really is.  I always thought it was something we ate.

Uh, you taken a look at WRX's lately?  Big hoodscoop, Big wing, and big exhaust tip.  Rice, even if it is fast.

Mitch

I wonder if the yuppies who wear "Von Dutch" clothes even know who Von Dutch was?

No, I'd have to say a Volvo S60 R definitely isn't rice. It's a great combination of "fun to drive" and safety. IMO it's one of the best late model family cars on the planet.

Rice to me is boy racer getup; big wings, lots of stickers, 20" rims on a compact ect... Though it's also an excellent side dish

Joe

Yea, it's a hoot to drive.  Has all sorts of cool bells and whistles... variable suspension, variable trans shift points, GPS, in-car phone, turbo'd, etc.  Handles and accelerates great.  It's the best personal vehicle I've ever had.  I first saw one at the Los Angeles Auto Show last February - went out and got one a few months later.

can you not read? or has the stupidity of driving a ricer got to your head? i never said awd means its a ricer, i said the mustang wasn't a ricer because it was rwd, and mentioned some other cars under 300ci that were rwd and not ricers. i know that alot of good performing cars were awd, but i still dont think they have the potential of a rwd car. sure it can handle and accelerate well, but with the additional weight and power loss, it will never be as fast as a rwd. and rice is anything other than the original american companies. chevy, ford, dodge, ect. sure honda is now in america, but it originated in rice land.
