Ok I'm going to repaint my truck and need to know what would be the best paint and primer for my money. It is going to be a dayly driver/ work truck so it will see a lot of use and I would like it to last for a long time. I'm tinking of a metallic blue on top and gloss black on the bottom then a clear coat on top.

Omni from PPG is a good bang I sold this product w/very little problems. This line is similar to their top line, the clears have a little less UV protection properties but solids content thruout this line are good for the money.I've used it on certian vehicles w/ decent results. With most paint products the more you pay the longer it will last.Oh yes color matches to factory colors is not the best, limited amount of toners hinders close matches compared to the top line paints from Dupont PPG etc. that have much more toner selection. Omni is some descent stuff. I've used Nason from Dupont but I think Omni is a better route. used both and I am more of a fan of PPG than Dupont in the more economical lines of paint. Also have a question. Is it better to put single stage hardlines on top of clear better or vice versa? thinking of using flat single stage and base/clear. leaning on base/clear down first if I decide to do it this way. Love the info this forum has to offer thanks for info and knowledge.ya'll take er' easy and drink a Coors light for me would ya?

Not trying to be a spelling and punctuaion Ahole but dayly is spelled daily. Other than painting autos and my newly engagement, it's really all I have going for me. Personally I would go with a flat single stage due to its easy maintenance. If you're not a fan of flat colors I would go with Wieder's info. He knows a good deal. I only work at Maaco. haha. Take it easy and good luck.
