Just to let you know since, Matt "THE KING" left you guys are really starting to go downhill. where are the fun articles that make you want to go out and wrench on your own iron, the funny notes that went with each picture, and last but not least, where did the fun go in car craft? C'mon Car Craft you had the best mag in town, let's make it that way again, if you need some reader input for good articles email me i'll help out for free. Im at mcsjr454@yahoo.com

Actually, a post almost identical to this one went up as soon as he left. I agree too, the mag is going downhill fast. This month's mag had very little i was interested in, an article on ANOTHER '69 camaro, one on how muscle car prices are going up (tell me somethin i don't know), and how to hop up a motor that only comes in a 40K SSR. The mustang was cool and so was the power tour and car show. But as I posted in the thread "Cya CC", the "BS" aka "fun" in the mag is gone. Mitch So what if you have more Horsepower per liter, I've got more Horsepower per car!
Yeah, I've got a turbo.......Transmission

couldn,t agree more with you guys . waiting for cc to arrive in oz is hit and miss . Sometimes it will be weeks late. I use to go nuts going to the newsagent every night waiting for it to arrive. Now i only look for it if i am going there for something else. I hope it revives itself, if not i might have no other option but to start reading some other magazine. when you pay 10 bucks a issue you want to enjoy it 100 horsepower per litre........i,ve got 1 litre per cylinder

Don't Give up hope yet on Car Craft! Everytime I have counted them out they come back bigger and better. I only hope they start listening to some of us gearheads for some better story lines. I do honestly have 10 Low Buck Junkyard Ideas for you CC. Email me if you want them. They are free. I don't even want credit for them. I just want CC to again rise to the top of my mags I read on the Potty.

I think the budget "affordable" hot rodding aspect is gone from the magazine. like someone said before...who can afford a the 5.3?!? and then modify it? Electronic overdrive? what the hell is that? tell me how to install a 4 or 5 speed (or six!!!!) in my automatic on the column novafor under one grand! Tell me how to make 500 hp with a $50 block 4 tin cans, baling wire and a roll of duct tape! thats what budget car crafting is all about!

I have to agree, I really stopped reading Car Craft when Matt King left for Hot Rod. I really miss the funny captions, the great articles and editorials, and everything else he brought to the magazine. I really AM tired of reading about 1st gen Camaros, and I wish they would focus more on cars that normal hot rodders build (80s Monte Carlos, 9C1 Caprice Interceptors, 3rd gen Camaros, ect). Matt King, come back!

Now you bring up a good point. Car Craft!!!! Show us some mid 80's muscle. Monte's, Cutlass, Grand Prix, Regals, Pusstangs....... I mean Mustangs (LOL), and the like. The cars are easy to find, cheap for parts, capable of housing good engines, and some even look good. Push us into the next generation of hot rods.

Don't get me wrong, I love late model F bodys, and 1st gens too, but if I have to read one more article about a Gen III engine swap into an old Camaro or Shoe box Chevy, I'm gonna fuking puke. Most beginners (or poor people, like me) can't afford LS1 F bodys and GTOs, or EFI swaps and disc brake conversions. We just want to go fast, and we want to do it cheap, and to the cars that WE drive, not just the rich geezers hopping up their $40,000 classic muscle. I would like to see more articles about how to convert 80s era junk EFI (throttle body injection) to carbs and the like.

Don't forget the second gens. I saw a clean bodied, 3.42 posi, 6 cylinder 81 camaro go for 700 bucks. It even had nice paint. They're dirt cheap right now, and they've got room for a big block without too much modifications. Mitch So what if you have more Horsepower per liter, I've got more Horsepower per car!

To be honest, I am a Ford man to the core, but the main reason I subscribed to CC is Matt King's Project Super Nova series. That was real car crafting. The high buck engine was a bit of a stretch, but hey, I ended up with more than that in my stroker windsor project, so it's not that unrealistic. I liked Matt Kig because he tried stuff, if it didnt work out, he reported on it. He didnt kiss anybody's a$$, which is likely why he is gone. Whatever happened to ethics and so forth. A man displays his, and is shuffled under the rug over at HRM....not befitting a King, I'll tell you. Long live the King, send Editor Smith back to Chevy High Performance, and let a real hot rodder back at the helm of the real hot rodders magazine.

Matt King is working for Hot Rod Mag, So what if he pissed GM off, it isn't like he was advertising their new cars. He just liked to abuse their old iron. This sucks First Elvis is gone then we finnally get another King and (poof) Hot Rod stole him.
