Yup...so im getting ready to finally get the engine and tranny into my Monza and I was trying to bid on some tailhousings on ebay that where for a th350 with the mounts for the torque arm...but i was out of town and told my brother to do it and lo and behold...he didnt...so I didnt get em...but...I do have a 700r4 sitting around...which has a torque arm mount on it...so i was like...Heeeeeyyyyyyy.... I know it will bolt onto the th350...but its almost 2 inches longer....I have no problem shortening the driveshaft or the torque arm...but was wondering if the yolk I use would make a difference...? Its gotta have the smaller output shaft size..which is no problem...but if I use the 700r4 housing and yolk...will the splines on the yolk sit deep enough onto the shaft to not strip it or be weak?... Just looking for an opinion -Shred

If I remember correctly the 2" difference isn't at the tailshaft but in bellhousing to mount.. 700r4 bellhousing to transmission mount is 22 3/8" and the th350 bellhousing to mount is 20-3/8" with the 9-1/4" long tailshaft housing. 700r4 overall length 30-3/4" and the th350 overall length 30- 5/8" The 700r4 & th350 share a 27 spline yoke (there are a few 31 spline th350's but these are rare) Don't know if this was the info you were looking for but if not I'll try again!

Tell you the truth I think that helps me....i have a tendancy to post a question before I look into it real well....lol But i have a few th350's sitting around...and they arent all the same tailshaft length. one is real short (the one i was looking at)...like 4"..one was about the same as the 700r4 and I also have seen the 9" ones....You hit the nail on the head. Im just gonna swap the tailhousings and shorten my torque arm and such. Thank you Sir -God bless -Shred
