First, imaginary 2007 Camaros, and now, imaginary 3V & 4V heads for them! It takes quite an imagination to be a GM fanatic these days.
Stick with the Cobalt, Junior. The "ugly" Mustangs will pass you even quicker that way. If the Camaro folks want to wait over 1000 days for their imaginary dream car to go on sale (if ever), so be it. But why not enjoy the wait in a new or used Mustang GT?

Even though a new Mustang is cheaper, more fuel efficient, more reliable, more insureable (try to insure a "classic musclecar" for anything close to its real value as a daily driver), less prone to rust, can be bought on the installment plan (try to buy a decent musclecar without cash), comes with a warranty, includes 35+ years of tire, suspension and NHV improvements, is easier to find parts for, etc?
Now that's hard-core, irrational hatred for Ford, Man.
I love '60s muscle. But modern muscle is 1000% more practical for daily use. Sure, all Car Crafters should have a '60s project car in the garage, but it only makes sense to have a fuel efficient, reliable modern muscle car, such as the Mustang GT or an SVT Cobra, as a daily driver.
BTW, a bone-stock SVT Cobra or 3V GT will wax about 99% of the stock "69 Chevell[es], '67-'73 Mopars and early Mach 1s on both the strip and a road course (with the air conditioning on and the Mach 1000 blasting).
An '03-'04 SVT Cobra is easily one of the quickest muscle cars ever mass produced by any factory anywhere. Quick and simple bolt-ons make them rock even quicker and faster (how about 690 hp on the stock short block? (http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=104572) How about OVER NINE HUNDRED? ( http://www.turbochargedpower.com/Customer%20Cars.htm ![]()

Your right no 07 Camaro it's slated for 09 there are spy shots up all over the net, including the hot Rod board. Yeah Ford built a # of things besides the mustang as far as still do well be honest that lightning is gone the cougar extinct the focus may be a good ralley car but since they switched from the Z tech to the 2.3 is much less capable, the GT costs about as mucha as a really nice house and is limited production and as far as fords advertised sales the mustang is for chicks yea there are some guys that drive them and they have great potential but no matter what the mustang will always be a car for girls. Not sure if it will work I snaged it from HRM for you.
: This is top secret and many sites have been asked to take down these spy pictures but I got them for your enjoyment!!

"Meanwhile, Stangbangers are going to be rocking the strips, road courses, autocrosses, and streets of America with the only affordable RWD performance car left standing. Clearly, the Mustang is the car of our Car Crafting future! That future is NOW!"
Probably safe to say that that is the biggest wish in this thread, for every Ford obsessist like yourself there's a Ford hater. I consider myself neutral**(or at least as close as possible in that sense), and even though Ford has caught on with the mustang much better than anyone else seems to be doing now for "modern muscle", I would still spend my cash on an old car project/driver first, I just have not been able to get any sort of musclecar feeling from looking at any newer cars compared to almost anything from the '60s or '70s. There has to be SOMEONE out there that can build us affordable muscle, and I say that even though I do recognize that things seem to be heading in the right direction, but for now we can only hope and wait.
**neutral meaning between the 3 big dog companies, if it crossed an ocean to get here I sure as hell don't want it

pushrods will be around for along time. where does it say that pushrods make a car less fuel efficient? cheaper, yes, but a gas hog, no.

Who the hell wrote that GM induced spin Jeff Smith ? What a GM propaganda piece . If Smith did not write it then Joseph Goebbels must work for GM . at least his theories ,"people will believe a big lie instead of a small lie everytime".

Your suggestion is almost like saying soccer is more popular worldwide (it's taking over--they're even little kids playing it in your hometown), so we real football fans should quit fighting over which team is better . . . .
FORD vs. Chevy has been a legit debate since the bow-tie boys stepped up to a V8 in '55. Now that Ford is really fighting back, why should we quit the contest now? GM sucked Ford into that before (when GM jawboned through the 1957 factory racing ban and then cheated like scummy Trojans on it).
Ford vs. Chevy is fundamental to Car Crafting. I don't care if the "imports" take over the whole world, the last proud Ford Crafter will be competing against the last arrogant Chevy-phile standing. If its not TURBOCHARGED, you're not finished yet . . . .

not to be picky, well, i suppose I am, GM only reintroduced the v8 in 55. they had them years earlier. ford is fighting back yes, but I hear they are also on the verge of lay-offs.

Some of your complaints are asinine. Leather gets too hot when you go to the parts store? Use the remote starter and let the car cool down for a couple of minutes
sorry but go look at a tenyear old car with leather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
leather doesn't age well in a car thats used....
an if I by a new camaro I'll be driving it and holding on to it for a long time... so if I the buyer wants cloth but wants everything else then sell me one that way...............
look at how many Mustangs Ford sells
um not many around here... dealers can even get then...

What part of "It's cheaper to include those than engineer new stuff"
thats great then don't charge extra for it...
Toyota keeps kicking GM, Ford, and DCX square in the nuts by using that policy then we'll be lucky to get ANY RWD V-8's here.
it will because it has less overhead and cheaper labor than g.m. ford etc..
I mention that because I'm the target market and I want a coupe that is cheaper than a BMW 3 series, but faster even with the options
u are not the target market my friend a female 25-35 is not a male...... thats why fords mustangs are 80% v6!!!!!!!!!
You want a stripper model so you can race no I want it so I don't get leather/onstar/gps/big 17"wheels I'll only be taking off it. if they are ugly....etc thats why..
and because power stuff breaks.... I can see use finding heated seat parts after it's ten years old/ or power lumbar parts or power/heated mirror parts...
some of us !!! ,,, Mjolnir.. will buy one and heep it for more than 3 years... and to us the power/heated/etc is only something that will break..
you maybe 30 something but notever one wants what you want...
g.m. sales on cars like these (f bodys) started to slow when you had to buy what they wanted to build !!!!
let the buyer choose what he wants not a marketing study..
I'd want the top v8/stick/cloth/tilt/power doorlocks/windows and not much else..other than A/C ... not to get top v8 you must order option group 1 2 5 8 and 9 ....
asinine as you may think all that listed above is.... I am a 30 something guy with the green to buy it now not two years from now not two years from now if I do a 7 year loan....
no no I'd be a cash buyer....

If it won't move,FORCE it,If it breaks, IT needed replacing anyways!!!!!!!!!!

What the heck you talking about ? The Mustang II / Pinto stopped being built in 78 . Then the Pinto carried on for another two years . You need to pay a bit more attention. Now you know though the Pinto was a hell of alot better Car that your Sunbird. Even with the early expoding versions. It was exciting at least . Plus the parts in it i.e. the front end (rack , spindles , a-arms ) have proven their strength in the street rod and all of the rack and pinion conversions. Yes the lowly Pinto front end sits under many a Nova Chevy II. Not too mention all of the street rods and kit cars it has helped to steer down the road. So be careful about what you say . You might drive a Car with a Pinto front end one day.
