This could be a question for Silver Buick,I keep thinking Buicks had the upfront angled distributor and a friend of mines 71 olds cutlass dist. was in the back on his 350. WIEDER

Oldsmobile Rocket V8's did all have their distributors in the back and an oil fill tube up front (just off center to the passenger side).
Dodge distributors leaned to the passenger side...Buick distributors leaned to the driver's side...both right up front.

buicks and cads had a front mounted dizzy.... cads only came 4 bbl...
how many valve cover bolts.???? what is the part number on the oil filter.. pull a spark plug.. what number????
where is the thermostat outlet.??? on the front of the intake manifold... or on the top of the front of the block...
might be the easist to take it to a old time mechanic shop and ask them what kind of motor that it has...
i love charades... i was in an az.. and a guy at the parts counter had 6 exhaust flange studs with torx tips and a single cr-43ts spark plug... so i ask ... putting a new motor in a 4.3 astro van... he was astonioshed that i could know what kind of car he has with just the studs and a single sparkplug ... i just guessed.. as only a few trucks and vans use the CR43TS plug...

It's a Buick moter. Look in the valley on back side of the intake and there should be three numbers indicating the engine size.
All the power in the world don't mean a thing if you can't get it to the ground!

Odds are it's a Buick, if the engine size is on the block behind the intake manifold it's definately a Buick. The Caddy distributor also angles towards the drivers side, to easily tell if you got a Caddy or Buick engine as mentioned check the water outlet (where the upper radiator hose connects), is it bolted to the front side of the intake manifold (it's a Buick) or on top of the timing cover (Cadillac).
