during the week, I work at my local drag strip (Mokandragway), and attend college (Pittsburg State University) {and yes it counts, because some day I will provide me with more income to build more cars, and the auto tech classes teach me alot}, then on the weekend I work at the walmart d/c throwing boxes. pays good, but work sucks.

Now I am Chauffeur Friday thru Monday driving celebs, business folk, musicians etc. Off tues, weds, thurs which I am usually fixing all my friends classic cars. None of them can change a spark plug, good for me. Occaissonally, I work as an actor or background. Hey, I live in LA! but the pay sucks. I used to have a part time job rebuilding carbs for a speed shop. I think I rebuilt something like 750 carbs in two and half years. Built my 383 in my Impala with the money. My car was the test stand for the carbs. Never seemed to get out of the store with any money after getting paid.

Believe it or not, I listened to my parents and got a 4 year degree in the hard sciences. It eventually landed me a professional position as an internal consultant at the local public utility here in town. Pay is great, the retirement almost unreal, and we pretty much have a free ride on medical. I am lucky.
I also have a mortgage and a kid in college, so I do other things like horse trade cars (and whatever else), until I get what I want. Takes some doing, but as long as I keep money gained from one car project or investment going into the next one without raiding the cookie jar for something else, then it's not a big financial strain.
I also rebuild antique clocks for people at a modest return. I have to admit that's more of a facination than anything. I also do residential wiring and electrical box upgrades on the side. Since I started at the Utility out in the shops, I got to know the whole electrical generation and distribution system right from the hydrogeneration dams to the household plug in. Amazin stuff.
That's it - Bowser

Too many years in school landed me a decent job as a Geologist to support a '77 Skylark (my first car), '72 Centurion, '67 T-Bird and I'll eventually get a '69 Firebird 400 to replace the one that get totaled then my collection will be complete and I can start looking for a wife and kids. For now purchasing my first house and picking up a Ford has slowed my cash flow but bonus and tax return season should kick it back into high gear. Merry Christmas.
To get through school: 3 years between two dealerships (GM&Ford), couple years at Autozone (as the guy that was actually helpful) and a few months as a fleet mechanic on 18 wheelers.

I'm a contract bean counter that travels alot - 15 out of the last 18 months. If things go well this week or next I'll be a full-time bean counter a couple of dozen miles from my house. Anyway that is my story and I'm stickin to it.

I work at a CSK parts store, and I'm an officer in training for the Army reserve. I'm also a college student. The reserve pays most of my bills, and I get a 25% discount on parts at work so it works out. Bought my cylinder heads a couple weeks ago. Assembled victor jr.'s out the door for just under a grand... Gotta love discounts. Mitch "I'm a Mean Machine, Drinking Gasoline and Honey you can make my motor run"-Guns and Roses

Worked at Burger King while in high school and my first year and a half of college...since then I've had an internship with Knapheide (they make utility truck bodies and platforms) as a drafter in the engineering department. I will be graduating with my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering in may...then going to grad school...then engineering will support my hobby.

I fix production machinery at a research and development business. It's a job and it has occasionally offered some ideas for my hobby.
