When was the last time a challenger was a featured car in car craft? I have only been getting this mag like 3 years.  How about doing an article on affordable A bodies?.... dusters, darts, demons, valiants and scamps are still out there and can host a v8 for cheap.  Would it help to get mopar stuff into the mag if I wrote the article? Or how about a small block shootout that focuses on the design of the engine and not how cheap it is to build it? This could show how stock engines perform against each other before all the power add ons. show head porting and flow tests and what the blocks are made of, stock intakes and all that stuff, then do a follow up and for $150 see who makes the most power.  I only say this because I was done with the last car craft issue, the same day I got it.  It bored me.

You have a good point! "Chevy Craft" can get boring even for a Chevy fan. I have a Chevy powered altered & am building a Mopar for street use. But all the complaints & crying wont do any good. The fact of the matter is that in the auto enthusiasts world most vehicles are Chevy powered. But for us alternative engine fans  the good side is our engines don't know what brand they are. Sound mechanical practices work on any engine! So use the articles for what you need (info, toiletpaper, whatever) and be grateful any engine builder is willing to share his knowledge with you.

DUde, I know Mopars and that challenger sure is the one that would take the bucket this time.  It's a pretty cool car to have but I'd rather have a 72 Charger 440 4 barrel.  Wooo.  Big Blower and superbee stripe on the back.  MAN!  isn't that everyone's dream car?

tell you the truth buddy My favorite chargers are 68-70. and more leaning toward the 70. I didn't like that bar in the middle. but hey they put a Hemi Dart clone in the mag which was sweet but I don't think it was terribly affordable.  Hemis are hard to tune I have heard and I would like to see more 340 stuff. its not like they aren't out there. I have two....

I can't belive the prices of Mopars lately! Schnikies! You'd have to sell your soul for anything Hemi. As for cool new stuff, have you been paying attention to Steve Strope and Pure Vision? That red GTX-r is *** Way cooler than the GM pro touring stuff.

yeah but you can still, like anything, find deals on mopars. I got my first mopar for free from a guy I knew that said I could have it if I got it out of his yard. a 71 duster with a 340 and a 904 trans. the interior was good and the engine would fire up. but the unibody was too rusted so I pulled the engine and trans and am rebuilding the engine. Free is good for a college student. the deals are out there. I bought my ebody for 55hundred. it runs and drives. if you want to do a mopar you can find a way. they are out there

I actually know of a '70 challenger that i could get ahold of.

318, 4 spd, 3.55 posi with dana axle.  Comes with a hopped 400 to put in.  The only rust is some bubbles on the fenders and the trunklid.  3000 bucks.  All i gotta do is make myself sell  my camaro.  Might be awhile.

Mitch

So what if you have more Horsepower per liter, I've got more Horsepower per car!

Yeah, I've got a turbo.......Transmission
