"I have no gripes about those little motors with big hearts"
I, well um, from the tuner community I would like to say we do respect you guys, it is just there are "SOME PEOPLE" on both sides that for some reason have bad blood between them. I seen a 04 SRT-4 STAGE 3 eat a 01 Vette for lunch earlier today and the driver of the Vette called the SRT - 4 a damn ricer! You believe that crap, the ONLY mod on the out side is a set of 17x9 wheels front and rear, that's it. The guy in the Vette got so mad, he approached the SRT - 4's driver to start some crap and the driver was a girl. That made him even more mad. Anyway, crap like this is why the term "ricer" will always be used torward any car that is not v/8, whether it is American, Japanese, or German. I personally think that is sooo wrong. It is just like the White and Black thing, people use "words" and stero type cars before they relize what they are about. There are ricers on BOTH sides. Whether it being Camaros in Detroit sporting neon lights or Civics in Jacksonville wearing 19inch wheels. And if a SRT-4 is a ricer, hell I guess a Cobalt, Saturn, Cavalier and SVT-FOCUS, Fiero and a Crysler Conquest (Remember those?) are all ricers then.

Did you notice the conquest in the commercial for the Dodge magnum? Any-hoo it's just like the Chevy guy doggin the Ford guy, some folks do it in fun,and some folks take it personal. With me its just pokin fun (allthough I really do hate posers).Racins racin, whether you run 13's or 8's. Let's face it if it's slower than that it get's kinda dull.So you keep on runnin "RICE",and I'll keep racin my "TURD", and I bet we'll both have a grin at the end of the day. P.S. beer drinker? yes, mullet?NO! but I am a old hippie, well 39 aint that d@#$% old. Party on dude!!!! Zombie122

"Did you notice the conquest in the commercial for the Dodge magnum?"
If your referring to the one where the Magnum passes the car and the guy in the Magnum had a surboard, 2x4's, amp, and some other crap in the back, well that car he passed was a Toyota MR-2, not a Conquest. I think it would be a slap in the face if they did use another Crysler, the BEST one is the two dudes in the Duster harrassing the guy in the Hemi truck. That #### is funny. And the reason I "favor" the 240sx over the 5.0 is because the "muscle car crowed" don't know the capabilities of that platform and it catches them offguard when I pull a mid 10. And BTW, I was not the one who called anything a "turd". The 5.0 is pretty much a show car anyway, besides the upgrades, it has be modernized with disc brakes, better suspension, MOMO Seats, other appearance stuff like that. It is fun to drive, but you look at it, and you KNOW it''s fast, on the other hand you let a flatt black, no body kit, decent wheels, 91 240sx roll up beside you and think "ah, piece of crap", then you hear a very loud whistle and a ppsssttt (blow-off valve) and I'm gone trying to keep it straight in third gear. That's what I'm about. So far my favorite kill is a highschool senior my little sister "was" dating in his new GTO, killed him, in a 1 mile race by 13 seconds!

And also yes I do trailer mine because I built it to RACE I've got other things to do with my money than pay impound fees and tickets.TURBOS AND NITROUS ARE FOR PEOPLE THAT CANT BUILD A FAST MOTOR.So like I said before you just sit there til you get your BOOST up and I'll see you with the yellow slip.I'm done Zombie122

BOO #### HOO
A srt neon is still a neon, and if you haven't noticed is pretty ricey looking. Just like a cobalt SS. And if you don't understand why there's bad blood between lines, it's just like the ford vs chevy debate. Only now we get along, and it's us vs the imports. Funny how the old "my enemy's enemy is my friend" concept still works. Mitch "I'm a Mean Machine, Drinking Gasoline and Honey you can make my motor run"-Guns & Roses

All I can say is if it goes fast, sweet. If it goes alot faster than it looks, even sweeter. If it looks like it goes, but doesn't, I don't even want to talk to you. Otherwise , I can tolerate many different kinds of cars, tech is cool but it all comes down to power-to-weight ratio. Make lots of power(which I can do for anyone-for a price.) or lose weight. Than figure out how to make it hook up and not break.

Man, I thoguht we may have found a "new age'" gear head that was OK but the more I read the more I learn. Why do I have a feeling that if I said my "Bu" ran mid 10's his "car" would run low 10's etc.,etc.Malibu had a sticker in the back window that said,"What's worse than drinking from a toilet? driving a Ford, well I removed Ford and put Import in it's place.Man, does it P.O. them boys! But you know what? It,s in the BACK window so most of them get to see it , at least til i leave em' at about the 60' mark, or I can quick stage and watch them back out because they didnt have enough time to puff em' up(build boost)Seen it ,done it LOVE IT "Outof the darkness theZombies did crawl "Rob Zombie" Zombie122

Muscle car people and import people will get along someday, I know it. I was not bragging about that GTO, the guy beat up my sister after the race because he got beat and she laugh at him. I did feel bad about it, but not as bad as he felt, our dad is a Gunny Sergant MARINE. You can figure out what happened to him. I am sorrry if I ocerstepped my status. BTW, I am a huge Rob Zombie fan. Best song by him ever is THUNDER KISS 65. Jam on that song while driving, you will find yourself going three digets in a hurry. I will admit I have been a little argumentative, but I am trying to establish myself apart from the "ricer community". That's the main reason I have built both, to be able to play on both sides of the street. I did not want a trailor queen, I wanted mine to able to go to wall-mart and not worry about anything. Ant the GTO was not stock, it had more SLP parts on it than you can shake a stick at, and it is the LS2 MODEL, he just weighs alot more than me. And he granny shifted too, 6,000rpms, he's pulling gears, that is why I beat him as bad as I did. He is too scared to push it to the max. If I were stock, I would not stand a chance in hell. I know that.

Poser? Nope. Just a real true drag racer. Thanks for the advice on the whole pulling the wheels thing. We've actually done alot to combat that issue. The class I run, however, requires stock location suspension, no wheelie bars, no coil overs, no ladder bars and no wheel tubs. I run an adjustable QA1's and stiffening up the suspension helps, but as I'm sure you know, with enough HP, any car will lift the front end. Don't you watch drag racing??? Last weekend San Antonio Raceway I watched a guy run a 3300 lb Nova to an 8.13 ET lifting the wheels a few feet off the launch, pedalling it, and lifting em again when he got back in it. This was on a single stage of the juice and more motor than most of us will ever be able to afford. BTW, when you are actually racing cars...I mean competition, not just Test n Tune, you usually know what you're up against...meaning you tune your car to run what it needs to run...with the suspension your allowed to run...and then you kick serious butt. Check out some pics of any 6...7...8...9 second cars that don't run a wheelie bar, and you'll see light under their tire too. So come off it poster boy. And get it up, keep it up, and stay in it...thats what we say.

You're exactly right, it is a trailer queen. I have no desire to drive it on the street, thats not what its built for. I have other vehicles for street duty. I have never road raced, I think it actually looks like alot of fun...but its really not what I'm currently "in" to. I still don't have to like imports. Especially not at my track. I wish they'd stay home or learn how to use a drag race track. Just like I have no business road coursing my car, most import guys really need to learn what the heck is going on at the drags. Its not just a tailgate party for showing off your under glow...its for low ET's and high MPH...til then stay home.

Where are you located? Here in the Memphis area, at the Memphis Motor Sports Park, the ratio of imports and domestics are about 80/20. There is a LARGE import street scene here, Supra's, RX-7's, 240's and even 1 Skyline. The most interesting thing is that the president of the Memphis Import car club drives a Hennessey ZO6 Vette( he also owns the only Skyline here/he's a CEO of a bank, go figure). Here we do get along pretty well. The only "trouble" we have is the Elvis loving, sideburn wearing guys that drives the Nova's and 84/85 ish Vettes (the cheap ones) that smokes 3 packs a day, you know the ones I am talking about. The import scene here pretty much owns the track, there is one 8 second Supra, and yes it is a trailor queen, he is a local cop. I guess where you live you have a bunch of kids with thier mothers Civics. That's too bad, the car community is stronger in force, not separated. This is off the subject, but I think it is amusing, last Saturday at the track a friend of mine had his Acura NSX at the track and this "person" asked him if it was a Japanese Corvette. He could not understand why the engine was behind the seat and could not comprehend what carbon fiber was. People like that we try to teach about modern technology. And BTW, girl racers rock, I got Lisa Kubo's autograph last season at the NDRA (Nopi Drag Racing Association) at the Memphis drag strip. She's soo hot, and runs 7's in her Saturn. And the car scene is more than taking a weekend road trip to the track BTW, it is about every day life when you get into your 10-11 second car and go cruising around town in a group of about 15-20 cars, we do that all the time. Don't have to worry about cops because thier is one in the group of cars and most of the others are active duty stationed here. It is sad though that the import guys can't "function" at your track properly. Why can't you guys teach them? Hell, Dale Jr and Kenny Bernstein had to learn to drive too. Now that being said, the ones that are just stupid, send their ass's home. We obviously are into two different things, you like all out non-street legal trailor queens for track only, I like a all around 10 second daily driver, to each thier own. My next project is going to be a DSM, any one with a GSX or TSI for sale? Do not want the new body style, they are turds on wheels. My stang is for sale too, anyone interested? 93 Fox Body LX Notchback. Runs ok.
