u guys *** about insurance costs, but mine arent high at all. I drive a 1983 Dodge Mirada, and I have a 360 right now. The vin says that it is a straight 6, so insurance is cheap. My buddy has a fox body mustang, and he bought it as a 4cyl, dropped a 331 stroker in it, and has a screamin street machine with 4cyl insurance prices. All u need is a little ingenuity. No matter what people say, I will always hate ricers.

I dont *** about insurance cost. Its not even that bad for the nova. but the reason i have my s10(other than it has a/c) is because insurance companies see the 4 cyl, 5 speed, and regular cab and think that because i cant fit a whole lot of people in there, i cant reek havoc on the streets. thats why a 334 is in the works.

Why waste the money on a 305? Insurance on my camaro is 110 bucks a month liability only with no tickets. I'm turning 20 this month. It sucks. Mitch "I'm a Mean Machine, Drinking Gasoline and Honey you can make my motor run"-Guns and Roses

i go to wshs you see many imports but when the nicer weather comes so does the better cars ive seen 80s-90s dodge daytonas chevy camaros ford mustangs a 77ish bandit trans am a 55 chevy wagon yesterday a 70s corvette stingray ocasionally a 1970ish monte carlo not counting the endles numbers of 80s-90s 4 drs and trucks i have a friend who has a 1983? olsmobile omega hes gunna fix ive got a 1970 skylark with a 350v8 and i only have my permit so i cant drive without an adult luckily its a old buick so insurance is farly cheap cheaper than my dads s10 with a 6cyl and i almost got a 1968 ford ranchero but every day older people with bundles of money raise the prices on parts for my car and the price of gas goes up and that geo is looking better every second
p.s i almost got the cops called various times about my car especially when i would start it and the people are use to their hondas farting not the roar of an american 350v8 they loved the exaust after it sat for over a month and it looked like it was doing a burn out (they love burnouts too) i think these sounds should be appauded its much better then ther kids running around screaming when im trying to work on it you all shouldve seen their faces when we were doing 90 on a boring street where 20 is speeding and we left it in the driveway everyone in the neiborhood hates me but its registered so they cant complain and they think there better than me i have pictures of it on my notebook at school and chicks love it i get more girls looking at my notebook than anyone with a honda in the parking lot now all i have to do is loose my looser friends that think its a piece of crap that shold be traded for something more "fuel efficient" atleast girls give me attention because im not driving a popcan and im not sitting here playing ps2 or listining to rap sure i dont fit in and i beat up for it but who cares long live american muscle and rock music down with "tuners" and rap

I posted this once and I'll post it again. Why imports suck.
Why imports suck, well let me fill you in on some things that Iread in a Super Chevy magazine a few years ago.
US: Installing an 8 and 3/4 in. rearend after breaking into the low 10s. THEM: Never realizing that their factory built 4 cylinder will continue to snap halfshafts forever.
US: 600 HP on 92 octane pump gas. THEM: 300 HP on $6 a gallon 110 octane race fuel.
US: Sideways into 3rd gear. THEM: Sideways to avoid highcentering a speed bump.
US: Dual 2 3/4 pipes with Flowmaster exhuast. THEM: Stock peeshooter exhuast with a 5 in. tip.
US: Installing a Hursh performance shiftkit for shorter throws. THEM: Installing the shift kit for the lighted knob.
US: Swapping stock 14 in. rims for 17s to hide trick brakes and suspension. THEM: Swapping stock 14 in. rims for 20s despite STOCK brakes and suspension.
US: Chevy old-tech LS6, OHV, pushrod engine with 425 HP THEM: State of the Art Honda DOHC VTEC with 160 HP
US: Boost guage on a blown engine, nitrous guage on a squeezed engine. THEM: Both guages on a naturally aspirated engine.
US: Throttle steer. THEM: Torque steer.
US: 500 ft-lbs of torque at 3500 rpm. THEM: 50 ft-lbs of torque at 35,000 rpm.
US: Installing a 12 point roll cage to reinforce the chassis. THEM: Installing a 12 point roll cage for more places to mount guages.
US: Polishing the taillamps for a bright red glare. THEM: Installing clear taillamps to bait cops.
All those cars do is advertise, "I saw this on 'The Fast and Fake....err I mean Furious,'" Have you ever heard of the "LINGENFELTER VETTE?" In 2002 LPE(Lingenfelter Performance Engineering) desinged a corvette with 802 HP and 866 lbs-ft of Torque that looks totally STOCK. Let's see if your little DUAL OVERHEAD COFFEE CAN engine can run a 9.24 qtr at 151 mph...... Yeah I didn't think so.

MmM that is koo but really why hate on us why not respect the ppl who take time to build cars as technicians instead seeing them as dumb little import drivers
there are many things (motor wise) that can be used from imports and domestic in the domestic realm and vice versa
come now now looks arent everything^^^
take a supra for instance or even a skyline they can look stock and run the same qtr mile time so that does not work..Dont belive me?? well thats y we have YOUTUBE

whoa, imports being cheaper??? riiiiiight.
i had a friend that had $5000 in a crx and it wouldnt even pull a 14 in the quarter, i had another friend that had a $17000 brand new civic si, and i smoked it in my stock ford truck 4x4.
now, i have a 72 duster, i built the 360, built the trans, built the rear, and left nothing stock. the car is solid. it used to be my daily driver. and after redoing the entire drivetrain and interior i still only have $4000 in it.
paul walker, vin diesel.... put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!!!!

it's foolish crap thinking that v8's get bad milage. i hear alot about how imports are lighter, when in fact after researching... their not... they weigh just as much. but i'm not above stuffing 20psi boost down a 2.3 ltr's throat to get 500ftlb of torque. i am however against alot of brocken transmissions+ halfshafts.
rear wheels are not harder to drive in the winter. i hate pulling from a stop sign and finding out i can't turn when i have to, cause my front tires are spinning.
i'm ok with 4bangers just not front wheel drive. well as long as the 4banger is turbocharged.
i'd like to shove those front wheel drives so far up their @#$##
reliability, comes first. and that is rwd all the way.
