Doug Glad, Jeff Smith & everybody else really nailed it with the latest issue, starting with the editorial setting the mood and then going out from there.  Made it seem like fun again to be a car guy.

Thanks!

Cant forget the Disco Stu reference. If he could get a magazine it would be Car Craft.

Mine still hasn't shown up. I guess I'll to go out to the news stand and buy it. It could be that my subscription renewal hasn't made it in yet.

I subscribe, I didn't get a calender.  But I did get a pullout that claimed to off a free year's subscription for a friend if I bought a year's subscription for myself.  Funny thing was the "free" offer was more than twice the cost of a year subscription.  So I could have indivually bought two, one year subscriptions, one for me and one for a friend, for less than the "free offer".

Free my hind end.  That kinda math must explain the plastiguage v. micrometer controversy, lol.

I did find one gripe, the ls1 in the buick.  What happened to the BOP big block guys?

I couldn't agree more. Modernize the Buick engine with EFI and perhaps distributorless ignition.  Sticking an LS engine in a Buick isn't anymore difficult then putting one in a Chevelle which has been done.  I want to see something new or at least something more than a Chevy engine swap kit installed in something other then a Chevy. Next issue will probably be the LS1 GTO or 442.

I will give credit where credit is due though, the car did look good.

I didn't like that either...plus the wheels on that car are $600+ a piece.  Add in $200 per tire...thats almost as much as they put in the F85 from the previous issue.

at first i was kinda disappointed to see the LS1 too, but after reading what the guy had to say about the car, i agree. its better to see a Buick than a Chevelle built for once.

the wheels kicked ass... but wow.... $600 each?

makes the whining im doing about $300 a piece for the new wheels i want seem petty.

The big block BOP guys are still out there, they just don't get the mag coverage that the ones with chevy motors get. I like how the cover said "home built" but then it turns out to be another checkbook hotrod.

The LS motors are great motors but the LS conversions are already becoming too commonplace. "Hey look guys, a Buick with a chevy motor in it. We just gotta do a feature on it." Gimmie a break.

The rest of the mag was good though. Loved the editorial and the GTO.

Yeah, this month was pretty good.I've never been much of a fan of 80's Vette's,but I've been thoroughly amused with Magneto's latest mis-adventures.I've seen a few F-Body owners waste lots of money in TPI gulch! As for the Superbird though,..that's a shame. It doesn't look like the owner would have the proper funds to give it the restification it deserves, and I don't mean date coded belts and hoses and Polyglas tires. That makes no sense to me either.I mean just killing the rust and putting a good paint job on it.He can't even afford to have it inside. Some rich *** will end up giving him a butt load of money for it,then restore it to factory stock.Boring, even if it is a limelight 6 barrel Superbird. The calendar rocks though. One of my buddy's was over the other day,he's not as much a car guy as us,he was checking the mag out and was like,Man,they got some HOT chicks in this mag!

When I was a kid,I wanted to work at the junkyard when I grew up.
