I am looking to build a couple engine adatpers for some projects I have in mind.
Where can I find the bolt patterns to make these. I was planning to use 1/4" steel plate for this project.
Of course there are other considerations like starter
and flywheel matching.
For starts I would like to put a 425 Cadillac in place of a 361 Ford FE with a manual trans. The Cad crank does not have a place for the pilot bearing.
Has anyone had some suceess with this type of adapter,
I would like to do most of this work myself.
Thanks,
GG

just curious    what application??????

i seem to recall the cad crank can be drilled for a pilot bearing

but why replace and reengineer something that there are so many options for unless you really have a MD/HD361 ford with all the sodium valves and the really heavy crank and dont need the torque and reliability that motor has...they do use differnt componants than regular FE's do...intakes, heads, exhaust, valves...

depending on the transmission a chevy bellhousing might be available and that is a lot closer as at least 4 bolts go indirectly and the centerline is established
