has anyone seen any articles here in the mag about doing a twin turbo setup on a relatively stock sbc. Any info greatly appreciated. Hey glad how about a budget twin turbo sbc build? hint hint any recomendations as to a/r or trim level I was thinking a set of t3 t4 hybrids 8 lbs internal wastegate and a blowthru demon 650. I already have an msd electric fuel pump and a boost referenced pressure regulater/no emmissions to worry about here so the only restriction I have is the budget. I also already have the heads done, stock but with comp roller tip rockers/ springs/ retainers/pushrods/ camshaft/ timing setup/ arp main, rod, headbolts. Ive been on a few websites and so far I think my plans are inline with what is tried and works, just a little nervous in uncharted (for me) territory Thanks

Yep, there's been some recent discussion on the matter. However, arent 2 turbo's pushing it a bit? I think Car Craft'l probably start with a single turbo 350, maybe something a step or two up from the T3/4 combo. I'd love to see an article on it too, as I'm looking into a third gen camaro to build There WAS an article just this month on a "Homebuilt 900hp Turbo Camaro". The concept is DEFINITELY there but it just needs alot of enthusiasm to get going. Some other members on the site I'm sure have turbo 350 setups, just have a look around -k

there was an artical about 15 years ago about a rx7 powered with a sbc with a single turbo... the guy came up with the blow off valve. he used a butterfly on the carb hat with a bimba cylinder to operate it...i dont know if he invented it or borrowed the idea
he milled out the intake port divider in the heads and had a custom intake cast that also was without a divider..
he drilled the main bearing bores so there was a oil shooter aiming at the bottom of the piston to cool it...
i personally think that blow off valves could be timed for drag cars so that when you stage car and load the motor the blow off valves are open to the turbos can spool up and when you floor board it they close and off you go... the idea of routing the blow off back into the inlet tube will quiet it and allow a mass air system to run properly... probably need a slight delay on closing to avoid blowing off the tires totally...

there are quite a few turbo 'stangs with the same setup I wanna run but I havent seen alot of sbc done except like this months camaro with 900hp who can afford to insure something like that? I just want to have some fun, see what I can come up with and the kits are relatively affordable compared H I C and all that other stuff. I plan to only spin this thing to 5500/6000 no nose bleed rpms or anything just have some fun. The blow off valves you were mentioning run from 55$ to 450$ for top of the line polished billet. A turbo runs from $139 to $1700 the msd fuel pump was under 100$ as was the boost referenced regulater. The vehicle is a '57 GMC truck and it will certainly be the only one here, especially with the twins hehe

Nice, which turbo's? And out of curiosity, and because I don't know a thing about carb'd turbo setups, wouldn't a twin setup need more carb than a 650? I have a friend who used a 650 on his 350 and actually thought it wasn't enuff for more than street use. And what psi would the twins be putting out? Sounds like fun, I think I might know of a Nova that needs some treatment like this GL man
