I'm building a 318 and trying to do it, naturally, within a budget. I'm looking to use the best available stock head that might be had in a junkyard or swap meet. I read the 400hp 318 article, which is a good read, but I don't want to run Magnum heads. I have no interest in plunking down extra $$ for a different intake or a new set of Mo-Po alum covers since I already have them, that on top of the cost of the heads themselves.
Any advice is appreciated. - Dan

Find a set of early 70's 318 heads and have them ported. Don't forget to do a good valve job and make sure you back cut the valves.
