Just a bit of feedback...love the articles on this little monster.  Its great to know that despite its tiny bore...its NOT a 305 (you know...boat anchor that doesn't respond to modifications)

Now that its been established that it responds VERY well to cam and head swaps...can we get some forced induction action going on?

Idea: Centrifugal vs twin screw.  I know both are available...which one is better?  

I am wishing they give these engines a rest . Tired of them. Seems like the GM Publicity machine is working overtime trying to pump this one up.  

^^You're tired of a $500 junkyard engine that requires a simple camshaft swap to get 400 HP???  Rather than the run of the mill 350 Gen I mills that get constant attention?  

And the last time there was an article on the 5.3 was FOUR years ago.  Small block ford...not so much...been a LOT more recent.  Gen I Small block chevy...laughable.  Mopar...again...not so much.  Oldsmobile?  Not so much.  They have NOT been overplaying these engines since about 5 years ago when it wasn't just CC...but Popular Hot Rodding and Hot Rod who were getting in the LS1 action (LS1 is not a 5.3...they are different...they command different prices at the salvage yard).

GM publicity???  WTF are you talking about???  It wasn't a crate motor...it wasn't a GM camshaft...wasn't GM intake...wasn't a GM fuel injection system...wasn't a GM carburetor...weren't GM headers.  

I don't care what brand you like or dislike...100HP from a camshaft swap in a JUNKYARD engine is definitely what CC is all about.

screw that carcraft article, look at this^^^...5.3turbo vortec with 600hp at the wheels with race gas and 15psi of boost. The guy bought a Ford Fairmont, put a used 5.3chevy in it with a junk generic MP70 Turbo and made 500hp at the wheels. He later heard that the LS1cam was more boost friendly so he bought a used one off ebay and installed it and got another 100hp at the wheels. this thing runs 9s at 137mph. He's using a Megasquirt II with msd ignition...and i cant remember what else. it was featured in Hotrod a couple months ago, the one with the Challenger on the cover...think it was April 08 issue.
