I am currently putting together a 468 big block for my pro street nova and I have everything picked out except I am having trouble deciding on the heads, carb, and intake. Right now I have a Weiand Tunnel ram, injector style scoop, and two 600CFM Holley carbs. I was told that I would be better off going with an Edelbrock victor jr.and a 1000 to 1050 cfm carb Demon or Holley instead. I was told with the tunnel ram intake the top end power would be good but the low end power and response wouldn't be great for the street. Is this true? Also I was debating on AFR 325 cc Heads vs. Iron Merlin or Dart 350cc heads on what would be the best to run. My goal is just to have a relaible pro street car that can also get it done on the track this is more of a nice day weekend car. Any help would be appreciated. Here is my set up minus the heads, intake, and carbs:

for a 468 look at something in the 300-310 cc range.edelbrock rpm heads are 290,make real good torque.

Because of the long intake runners, a tunnel ram manifold operates best at high RPM, and is not that good for the street. You'll be better off going with a dual plain high-rise manifold of some sort over the tunnel ram.

Yeah eye appeal was a factor. A guy at jegs said get a comp cams thumper cam and use 305 afr cc heads and it should have the torque and cubic inches to work fine. He said since my car is a 4 spd its going to be a little bit more forgiving.

I actually have an original 1969 Corvette 427 bbc 435hp with matching number heads and everything right now but since that is a rare engine I would rather sell it than build it for horsepower.

My heads are
3964291 396/402/427/454 69-70 2.19/1.88 108cc L-78/L-71/L-72/LS-6 Rectangular port 325cc intake

and my block is
3963512 427/454 69-71 335-450HP 2 & 4-Bolt COPO

I planned to sell the long block and keep my top end parts like my carbs, ignition, pumps, intake, scoop etc. This was my full set up I planned to do once I sell the vette 427.

TRANSMISSION:
Muncie 4-Speed Transmission
Cincy Driveline Custom Driveshaft
Zoom Stage 3 Multi-Friction Clutch

Weiand Hi-Ram Tunnel Ram Intake

This is actually the first muscle car I have ever picked out every single part for and built from the frame up. I have driven dragsters and even top sportsman cars my uncle had but that was just it I drove them and didn't ever work on them. My uncle passed away last year and my aunt ended up selling the race cars so I wanted to start doing my own thing since he was gone. My other uncle was into hotrods but he was more of a hacker than a builder and actually the one who suggested the tunnel ram intake haha. I also liked the pro street look so I figured why not build one. I'll admit I didn't know a lot about building engines and muscle cars since I never did the work to them I just drove them but I've learned a lot and still continue to learn. I have put a lot of time and money into this car and I want to build it but most importantly I want to build it right even if it means going back and changing parts.
