I finally got around to replacing the converter this weekend and also threw a new pump on it while I was at it. (as discussed in a previous thread).  Well, that wasn't my problem.

So now I'm ripping into the tranny but hit a roadblock, when I replaced the pump a few days ago it popped right out, (almost too easy) but now with the new one I've been pissing with it for hours and can't get the S.O.B. to budge. There are no tapped holes for using bolts or a slide hammer like on th350s I've rebuilt. So what my question is, is there a trick to getting these things out and should I be concerned that the old one came out so easy and this one wont?

Thanks in advance.

If you've disassembled the pump and the pump halves aren't perfectly aligned when it went back together then bolted back into the case that'll make it a little tough to get back out without a pump removal tool, it's kindof looks like peice of 2X4 box steel with 1 of the long sides cut off with a 1/2" T screw on the top 2" portion and the other side is cut out to engage the outside spline portion of the pump. New they are around $90.

All the power in the world don't mean a thing if you can't get it to the ground!
