can any of you out there tell me what i did wrong on my car i have a 63 chvy II s.s. it has a 40 over 350 , th350 with a 3000 stall converter aluminum drive shaft from inland it has a heidts front clip and the heidts rear four link. a moser 9'' with 3.90 gears and an auburn possie im running 235/60/15 mickey drag radials.
i just got it running i did all the proper breakin before i took it for a test drive when i get on it it make a loud hum noise when i back off it stopsis this rearend or tranny can anyone help  

First, check all your motor mounts.

Second, pull the rear end cover (unless it's a 9-inch) and see if there are metal shavings in the bottom of the pumpkin. The mesh on the pinion and ring gear might be off.

This could also be tire noise. Tough to tell, a lot of things could cause a humming noise. When you're "getting on it" do you feel any strange vibrations in the car, through the steering wheel, etc.?  

Find level some ground and put the rear of the car SECURELY up on jack stands and block the front wheels.  Have a helper run the car through the rpms while you listen to the engine, trans, and rear from outside the car to try to isolate the noise.  Inspect further once you figure which component is making thse noise.  
If there is no noise this way, it could very be your tires.
It beats trying to listen with your head out the window.  

It sounds like the rear. When you set up the gears what was the back lash and what did the coast pattern look like?  

sorry moser actually set up the third member all i did was bolt it on thats one part of a car i havnt done yet same with transmissions do u guys think my pinion angle could be off because i never adjusted the four link i feel no vibrations in the car and all the motor and tranny mounts are energy suspension all are brand new. what do u guys think of lucas oil i used there gear oil and the possie lube that moser sent me
