My wife's grandparents' van is not starting correctly. It is a '94 Dodge with the 318. It just clicks most of the time you turn the key and will eventually start after toggling the key on and off anywhere from 15-50 times. I am not that familiar with Mopar stuff. Does this sound like a starter issue, a solenoid issue, or some other relay or something that is specific to mopars. The battery has plenty of juice and the cable ends are clean and tight. I have always only wrenched on Chevrolets. Just trying to get some expert advice before I tear into it. Thanks.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM A DODGE CAR OF MINE. BUT ONLY WHEN ITS REALLY COLD OUT. LAST NIGHT IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET IT STARTED WITH -3 DEGREES OUT. MY STARTER IS FAIRLY NEW, I'VE REPLACED THE GROUND WIRES AND GROUND STRAP FROM MOTOR TO FRAME, CLEAND ALL CONNECTIONS, STIIL DOES IT. WHEN I TURN THE KEY ON I HEAR THE STARTER RELAY GO CLICK AND THATS IT. SO THIS WEEK I'LL CHANGE THAT AND LET YOU KNOW IF IT WORKS...

I TOOK A HAIR DRYER AND HEATED UP THE STARTER RELAY BEFORE I TRIED TO START IT AND IT STILL DIDNT START. THEN I USED THE HAIR DRYER TO HEAT UP THE STARTER AND IT STARTED. I DONT KNOW WHY A WARM STARTER STARTED WHEN A COLD ONE WONT BUT IT DID...
