I have a rearend from a 80 firebird with a 2.41posi. I want to put it in my 69 camaro. I need to replace the spring mounts. Someone before me has replaced them before and I am not sure if they are in the right place. I am looking for the pinion angle and the measurement between the spring mounts. Can anyone help? Thanks Bill

Ugh! That's a tough one. Unless someone has the exact measurements, I'd suggest finding a competent rear end/driveline shop that can get the spring perches welded on right.
You other option is to find/borrow a '69 Camaro rear and put it next to the rear you've got and measure/compare between the two.

I have a '68 Camaro. The 10 and 12 bolt rears have the same dimensions as far as spring mounting goes. Only 67-69 Camaro rears interchange as well as 68-74 Nova's, Apollo's, and Omega's. A rear from an 80's Camaro shouldn't fit unless the spring perches have been cut off and rewelded to fit the Gen 1 specs. The backing plate to backing plate dimension for a Gen 1 rear is 53" and if you measure from the inside edge of the spring perch where the spring sits to the inside edge of the other spring perch, it's 40". The mono leaf spring perch is 1" deep where the multi leaf perch is 2 1/8" deep.
Hope that helps.
95 9C1 Caprice with 174K miles and running 13.4XX in the 1/4 daily driver. Wife's car is a 95 B4U Caprice with 110K-bone stock for a little while yet. Oh, and a 502HO 68 Camaro that wishes it was a Caprice. :P

You may also want to take a look at the overall width of that rearend. 2nd gen cars are I believe about an inch wider. they will fit with modified perches, but it will limit your tire and back-spacing options. I have a friend with a 69 camaro, which has a mid-70's camaro rear in it. With 8 in vette rallies and 255/60's, the tires rub on hard acceleration

I have a question.Im not sure how to start my own active post. My question is i rebuilt a 305chevymotor. I used flat top pistons,58ccHeads shaved .010: 260/270 dur 394/414 lift cam. I went with standard bore (I would have used 350ci But: I did not need a lot of horsepower) Motor sounds like a bb rattling in a narrow test tube glass when i revv engine. it quits rattling when i back off ign. timming with vacuum unhooked.Eng. has 75,000 Hard run miles with this cond. and runs good with 40 pound oil pressure. No knocks.Advice please. My first&only overhaul. 1,300.00 spent on eng.
