I want to get a camaro project car but i am a bit unsure about how much they generally cost, can someone tell me how much it would be to get a camaro that wouldn't be running without an engine or tranny, just the body.
Thanks

what years are u looking for or model z-28,base model, convertible etc and what area are u from.also what condition ,all these are big factor in price. i know in southwest virgina where im from u can score third gen rollers for arond a grand in exelent shape second gens arent to hard to come by either.but it all depends on where u live or how far ur willing to travel hope this helps.

68 or 69, i'm pretty sure those will be pricey but can anyone give me an idea of how much? hopefully for just the body, nothing else, i'd prefer it like that so i can put everything in myself and to hopefully lower the price of the body.

I just sold a 67 rs and a 68 camaro and a ton of spare parts for both cars and enough to build a few more for $8000. They are hard to come by, shells I mean. If you can find one thats worth your time your probably lookin at $1000-4000 just for a shell. I got lucky and found the two I sold and all of those parts for $1500.

So you're saying that it's pretty hard to find the shell then right? So would it be easier to find one with a little more included? If so how much would one of those run?

I bought my unmolested original 69' w/all paper work & protecto plate for $1000 ,but that was 1982 and i still have it . but your looking at $2-4 grand for a start then who knows on building it ,all depends on your dreams.

I'd reccomend looking at second gens if you're concerned about price. The best deal you're going to find on a 68-69 is going to be a barn find somewhere, or something requiring so much effort that body and framework are going to cost more than you'd pay for a better body.
Problem is, everyone else is discovering this, too. I bought a '73 in 2004 for $4800, put about $4000 into it, and sold it a few months ago for $12,000. (Had a shiny new corvette project to buy parts for).

Yeah, I drive a jag. But it has a chevy engine and scares my mother when you mash the go pedal.
