My dad and i have spent the last couple years restro-modding a 65'F-100. we put a 91'5.0 HO out of a cougar in it and kept it EFI.  now being an 18 year old kid I'm making it fast. I have a heavily ported edelbrock performer intake, 70mm cobra mass air, 70mm throttle body, and long tube headers running to 2.5 dual exhaust with cut-outs and some 40 series spoofs splitting it too quad pipes dumping in front of the tires, i also have a TCI 3000 stall on an AOD, B&M transpack and shifter, with 4.11 gears, and a MSD 6AL, coil, cap, and rotor. now i need heads. I'm on a strict budget and have been looking at used heads for several months now, and i have found some new pro-comps for $705. they come in either 190cc intake or 210cc intake. i cannot decide on which one too run. my factory rev limiter is 6250rpm. my plan is too put the heads on run it at the drags and see a time and decide weather or not to run a cam. it is a high mileage motor and the rings won't last forever and when they go i want to be able to run the same heads on a 347 stroker and rev it too 6500-7000. also when i do a cam i plan on having a custom chip burned for it and i was wondering if i could extend my factory rev limiter in the mean time. or can i disconnect the factory tach and run one off the MSD box? but back to the original question 210cc or 190cc heads? A head and cam combination would be appreciated also? I already have a BBK fuel pressure regulator and i was wondering what injectors i will need(currently 19lbs 4-nozzle)?  Thanks Neil Torbett

Edelbrock Performer RPM heads would be a nice choice, 1.90 valves, 64cc chambers(i think). Summit Racing has them for around $900 a pair assmebled, at least thats what they cost me a year and half ago.  I put these heads on an injected Mustang.  They will easily support over 400hp.  I would suggest switching to 24# injectors as they will match your Cobra MAF. Also get a dyno tune if you do a head swap. The stock tune is scary lean in the 3000-5000rpm range.  Also a dyno tune will help realize the potential of your combo. Remember the computer still thinks its running a 220hp stocker haha.  Hope this helps!

'89 Mustang 5.0L...It may be ugly but I'll show you the taillights with the drop of the hammer.

I would get the 210cc heads.  The idea is to upgrade once.  These heads will be better for when you decide to go with a bigger cam ans such.  It would be counterproductive to buy the smaller heads and then decide that you want to go faster yet and realizing that the combo you want to put together is being hamstrung by the smaller heads.  Buy heads once, because it's one of the costliest upgrades that you will do.
