chowder48:
F Y I i have a 96 9C1 police caprice with 380k on it I purchased for the donor to do up my '48 Pontiac  this thing is 330 hp stock but pulls really hard it will smoke the tires from standing start for a full block it accelerates like crazy (say tunnel vision) and a rolling start will hurt your neck if you arent expecting it  the cops here (small town) tell me it has a rebuilt motor and tranny  so i figure it was a steal for 350$ at the police auction  the body has all those cool lightening holes in it (rusty, big time..)  but hey  this thing rocks

a stock 96 LT1 is NOT 330hp , its 260-265 on a good day .but itsa a damn site better than the 190 horse tbi in my 89 9C1.

Guys--
I'm really sorry- We had to cut the LT1 build from August's issue.  I'm putting together a summary that will go on our website to keep everyone who's interested up to date.  I'll put any new information here.

69LT1Nova-- I see you've already found the blog, but for those who don't know, go to the top of this page.  There are three tabs to choose: forums, blogs, and rides. Click "blogs", and look down the list for "John McGann's Blog- The Chevrolet LT1 Files".

So... is there more than the two blogs? One on the tear-down, the other apologizing that your LT1 is a powerless turd? I hope the entire LT1 story is still making it to print once you figure out WTF is going on. Waiting stinks...
