Not in this particular picture but my Firebird saw 140+mph twice (CA Hwy 395 and 15Fwy) and 130+mph several times.  The 2.73's, OD and the need to pass a lot of people helped out.

I'd say 125-ish when my Cutlass had the Olds 350, a 200r4, and 2.41 gears out back, in a very long, open stretch on I-80 in Iowa.

eh, wasn't this a thread a few months back. But anyways, I can't tell for sure, which Im sure alot of you are just guessing because I doubt any of you have speedos that read past 120 like mine. But i'd have to say I was at about 140 on I-35. Racing a fireturd with a 400 small block. My set up consists of a 454 screaming at 6 grand, a t350 and 3.08 gears.

It wouldn't let me edit my earlier post so here is my addition.

The '69 firebird'S Speedo goes to 160 and it certainly was a bit above 140 and I used one of those internet rpm, gear, speed calculators to double check the speed and after punching the numbers in again it comes out to 144.95mph.

Pont400-700r4-2.73  215/70/R14 3600-3800rpm in 4th w/convt locked up.

It's what happens when you need to pass 3 RV's, 1 18-wheeler and four cars. I really do need to score another one ;/

for those of you from around the east coast, i use to make it from Woburn MA (north of boston) to Oguncit(spell funeticaly) ME, (around York maine) in 1/2 an hour on I95!

And that was with slowing down to 65ish on 95 in NH cause the staties are ticket happy up there.

i did the math with tach speed and it came out to roughly 127mph! in a 20 year old wagon.  She had a lil more in her, not much i dont think, but i do run 30" bfg All Terrains and i dont think they were designed to sustain 130mph, they held 120+ for about 15min every saterday morning at 5am on my was to work

They funny part is i Honestly, NO bs was cruising about 120-125mph, got a bad feeling when blowing by a bridge. when i looked to the right i made eye contact with a MA statie that was hiding behind the bridge.  He didn't even put it in gear!!  too much paper work i guess, lucky me

It may not be the fastest or prettiest, but i can pretend

Yes, this thread has been here before. "How Fast Have You Driven"

Anyway, about 140, in a 69 Impala SS 427/ 4 speed 7000 rpm on West Dodge Rd and 108th in Omaha racing against a blown 72 Pantera GTS. I got my ass handed to me.
