I just put A Disc Brake Conversion On the my 58'Chevy. and when I put the outer nut on the wheel and snugged it the where there's jus A tiny bit of drag on the bearings. and then putt on the Callipers on and tightin them up. the disc is tight up against the inside pad. I have a pretty simple way of moving the Calliper back if need be Butt. the main question really is were should the disc be when Everything Tight?

Have you pushed the brake pedal since the install?  Both the inside and outside pads should be touching rotor.  If you push the brakes and it does not slide the caliper over so the outside pad also touches the rotor then something is wrong.  If after pushing the brake petal both pads should be in consant contact with the rotor.  After installing new pads on a disc brake system because the way the caliper is compressed and how the pins allow for sliding one or both pads can have space between it and the rotor. Only after the brake pedal is pushed and the caliper compresses the pads will the pads definately (and properly) be touching the rotor.  As long as your wheel bearings are snug they require no adjustment, especially for the brakes.
