Here are the details:

Vegas, Baby!

Clear you calendars now; the Car Craft Anti Tour is heading to Sin City at the end of April.  The plan is to meet up at Global West’s manufacturing facility in San Bernardino around noon on Friday, April 27.  The guys at Global West will let us hang around their place for a couple hours and show us how tubular control arms are made.  We may even pass out some CC t-shirts, hopefully without any oil stains.  From Global West, we’ll set our sights on Las Vegas Motor Speedway for Midnight Mayhem drag  racing starting at 8:00 p.m.  Racing goes till 1:00 a.m. and what you choose to do after that is up to you.  On Saturday, the track will be hosting the Pacific Street Car Association’s Las Vegas Nationals.  We’ll probably hang around the track on Saturday to watch some of the really fast cars then head back to Los Angeles on Sunday (late) morning via the scenic route.  You can join us if you wish or forge out on your own.  Beaters and primered rides are welcome.  Shiny cars can come, too.  Stay tuned to carcraft.com and the CC message board for updates.  We hope to see you then.

I'm really looking forward this not having made an Anti-tour since '04. It should be great especially with  all that Lost Wages offers once the the tire smoke clears.

There are a few of us who are interested in running in the PSCA event Staurday. Is that possible and do you have a contact or connections for us to follow up with?

I may just have to spring for a fresh set of drag radials for the trip, now that the first run/fastest run challenge is on.

This should be a good time indeed. The weather should be pretty fair and the track is supposed to hook real nice. This will be the nine second nitrous attempt for the car. I have to keep up with Aram you know!
That and a certain Mustang I know of is gunning for the same thing that I am.

Hey Glad, is the Rambler going to make it?

The Rambler should be ready. New rearend, new transmission and shifter cable. It is having a charging issue and the fuel gauge seems to only want to work sometimes but otherwise it should be good to tow...er go.

I'll be bringing the Impala again. It'll be close whether I get the new nose on it before we leave or I just leave the dented one on there. I'm hoping to show up in flat black. Just got another pair of Street Stars for some drag radials and I am looking for a line loc to improve race times this year.

I am hoping to make the Tour this year in my 63 Galaxie, it will be my first time. I will be coming down from Northern California in the Chico area. Is there anybody else from this area interested in caravanning down?

I've been to Vegas Speedway's website. I can't find any rules for the Midnight Madness races. Are they using NHRA rules?

The Midnight Madness race is just that.I've never been but I'm told it is as close as possible to a street race.

Thanks for the reply, Glad.

I was thinking about inspections. Racelegal last year at San Diego made everyone bring helmets and such. I was just wondering if Vegas will be inspecting cars just like they did. Or, are they going to use the NHRA rule book for speed vs safety equipment.

I'm new to the Anti-Tour. Is it OK to tag along for part of the ride???

You can tag along or go the whole distance. Whatever your schedule allows. This is a pretty loose trip and we should all have a good time!

I went last year (drove my silver '71 Chevelle).  This year looks like my brother and I will be showing up in his '96 Impala SS.  That's if he gets the new tranny installed, updated tuning, and the engine accessories bolted back on.

Fire Bat will be seeing nothing but our Impala hoofs on the 15 to Vegas
